My daughter is so like your son. She is a perfectionist as well. She had a hard time last year and struggled in her new school. Took her hours to finish anything and she cried alot. This year we switched her school and she has gotten so much better and is so much happier. We talked about her not having to be such a perfectionist while still doing the great job she does. So far so good.

I have a 19 year old son who is super intelligent (he got a 35 out of 36) the first time he took the ACT.. but he struggled so much in High School because things had to be perfect for him to turn in. He got better..but it has definitely been a struggle to overcome. My 15 year old daughter also loves birds and we have 3 right now. Two parakeets and a Green Cheek Conure. She’s been able to teach the Conure a lot. Birds are a lot of work..but are also a lot of fun👍
