This little eight year old has a gift. She can draw. With a little more practice and some art supplies. She can be a great artist. If possible, provide her the opportunity. It will also help her with her healing journey.
I am so happy. This child has been adopted by two loving people who are willing to raise her and love her.
Children with trauma, need a routine. Need boundaries. Discipline and most of all instruction. It is important, that she, participates in everything family. Include her. But keep her busy. Teach her coping and life skills.
It is good to have family outings. But sometimes these are not always possible. Do not make her believe that you are her happiness. Teach her to learn to overcome all things and disappointments. Bad things happen. That is not who we are. It’s just the journey that makes us choose to be better than those who chose not to live us. Trust is fragile. But that is why Love conquers all.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I’ll be keeping you all in prayer. May your days be blessed and the good moments be worth remembering.
