Why Remember the Civil War? [02/19/2014]

One of the leading historians of the Civil War, Gary W. Gallagher, discusses why the Civil War still holds such a grip on the American imagination 150 years later and what we most need to remember from that conflict. Gallagher is the John L. Nau III Professor in the History of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia. He has written or edited more than 30 books on the Civil War. Gallagher's most recent book is "Becoming Confederates: Paths to a New National Loyalty."
