Congrats! Thanks for taking us along on the journey. It seems odd to me that the standard advice is to continue upping the dose even though the current dose is working well.
Fantastic well done. Sometimes after a reduced diet, having extra calories gives your metabolism a kick. Doesn’t always work but great when it does 💪 ps I also split doses… 😉
@@LadyjaneAdventures Thanks. ‘Split doses’ I could not remember what people were calling it. How do you do it? Click count? Or another way? I don’t even know if MedExpress will let me order a higher dose than I’m due :)
I've split my dose and didn't want to jump up to 5 straight away, so do 45 clicks to get a 3.75 dose and I take the 5th. Buy insulin syringes and draw off the 5th. Every penny counts. I also don't care if it goes over the 30days I keep it in the fridge anyway. Fab weight loss over Xmas ❤
Right. I have syringes. At the moment my thought is to try to order 10mg next and either stay at 5mg or go up to 7.5 and split does. A lot will depend on what MedExpress say when I try to order 10mg :)
Awesome result, Gordon! What a positive end to 2024! You're looking really well, too. I have a query, and I hope you don't mind me asking: What's the deal with upping the dose? Is there a top limit? And once you reach the maximum dose, do you just stay on it forever, take it for a specific length of time/until you reach a specific goal, and then stop abruptly or taper down the dosage to 'wean' yourself off it? Apologies if I'm being overly intrusive - if this isn't something you want to answer at the moment, no worries at all ☺️. Regardless, you're still doing a brilliant job. Here's to more success in 2025. 🎉
Thanks. Happy to answer based on my limited knowledge. For Mounjaro, you start at a start up dose of 2.5mg and it seems to be recommended that you up your dose by 2.5mg every 4 weeks, to a max of 15mg. Although, many people seem to hold on an any particular dose while it is working and they are losing weight. My plan is to stick at 5mg while it is working, maybe go up to 7.5. Not sure. The deal is that your body get’s used to it and it can stop working. But everyone is different, so I I’ll wait and see. For weight loss (rather than diabetics) I think the recommendation is to stay on it till you either stop losing, or reach a desired goal. Then you taper, either reducing back down, or raking the injection less frequently. I think that going cold turkey is not recommended.
You said you are your lightest weight since the middle of 2023 which was your carnivore time.. why didn't you stick with that, you could of been possibly even lighter with less risk of side effects. Good luck on your journey. I'm just started climbing this month and I plan to restart carnivore. Let's see how it goes
I had the same problem with Carnivore as I’ve had with every other diary I’ve tried (Intermittent Fasting, Calorie Counting, etc etc), I get them all to work, but they are hard (will-power wise) and I find it impossible to stick to them. Good luck climbing and with your restart of carnivore. Oh, and I would add that not everyone agrees carnivore is without risk :)
@fatoldclimber wow you do not look 60 in the slightest. Fair play for pushing yourself and taking risks (the big swing video) if you're ever at any of the liverpool climbing hangars or Manchester depots.. the new big depot is brilliant n you want a climbing buddy.. not recorded though I'd be up for climbing
Enjoying your updates mate. I'm in my 4th week now. 12lbs down and feeling a lot better already. Looking forward to the next few months progress
Thanks. Good luck in 2025.
Well done mate, that’s excellent.
Thanks.
Really enjoying following your journey... You are starting 2025 on the front foot! A massive well done!! 💪
Thanks. I’m looking forward to it.

Thanks. Yeh, I’m not sure why. I have a few weeks to decide what I’m doing.
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks.

@fatoldclimber thanks for the reply, Gordon - that makes a lot of sense! Happy New Year and all the best to you. ☺️
@ Thanks Anna. Same to you.

@fatoldclimber can I ask how old you are. I'm 49 I don't feel that old
@ Haha, I’m 61 and I don’t feel that old mentally, physically I normally feel 10 years older 😂 Hoping to change that in 2025
