    Your playing...I don't know if I should be inspired or demoralized.

    • @JayLeonardJ

      Hopefully inspired, haha. If not, I'm doing it all wrong.

    Ever think about switching to decaf? Just kidding. Awesome playing, great sounding pups.

    These are great pickups. My buddy got a set a few weeks back and the tone is amazing. They replaced his Ron Ellis 50/60. Your demo was great and has me thinking that I should build a Jazz Strat to join the collection. Keep the great demos coming…

      Yeah, I was really into how these pups sound with flatwounds. Those string can be finicky, but those pups really found all the sweet spots.

    Jimmy Hall, Johnny Smith, and Chet Atkins are all super mad at this tone coming from a strat. You friggin rip, too, man.

    When you went to the thinner tone I thought "nah, there's nothing you can do with that tone." Then you started playing and I was like "oh mamma."

    You are an amazing player, truly an inspiration! Wonder if you knew any good cheap tube amps to start out on for playing jazz style guitar? Thanks!

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  7 лет назад +7

      My go to mid-priced tube amps for jazz is anything blackface Fender: Deluxe/Super/Princeton/Twin Reverb. Princeton Reverb. If you want to save a little more money, George Benson uses a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe/Deville and gets great clean jazz tones.

      @JayLeonardJ  8 лет назад

      Cool amps! The first one is my go-to Benson Monarch: killer amp. The second being a Quilter: the best solid state amp I've played since the old Lab Series boxes.

      @samuraiapocalypse704 8 лет назад

      +JayLeonardJ ooooo boy! Them Benson amps. The only thing standing between me and one of them killer amps is the lack of Benjamins or in my case Mandelas😒

    4:25 *___* Beautiful. Did you write this?
    The oomph on that lower E string is insane. With that kind of sound combined with your dexterity, you're pretty much making the double-bassist obsolete :)

    Do they have special tone pots? They seem not to steal definition when rolled off... that's very hard to get.

    Jeez, that's some seriously impressive playing. I'm atually starting getting into Jazz guitar. I am not quite sure which string gauge to use since my strat has some really slinky ones. Which ones are you using if I may ask?
