@@marcbenjamin9436 Huh? Nobody in this thread mentioned DeGrom, so I think you accidentally put this in the wrong place?? I do agree that Degrom is no longer worth it.
Fine on Crochet and Williams. Aronado is on a downward slide, is temperamental and doesn’t always give max effort. Has periods of laziness. Luke warm on Castillo, Mullins.
Garret Crochet had a really good year, but given his injury history and lack of major-league innings, I really don't think that you can count on him to be a lockdown ace. He may well win a Cy Young or two in the next 2 years, but he could also end up pitching less than 50 innings next season because of injuries. I know fans hate trading prospects, but while I might be willing to include Jet Williams in a Crochet deal, I would not be willing to include our top two or three pitching prospects. I had read that Chicago was looking for offense, anyway. I think Jett Williams and Ryan Clifford (if the Mets intend to bring back Alonso) would be as high as I would be willing to go for Crochet.
I like that idea, and have been presenting it as a possibility in various streams. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in Vlad's arbitration hearing.
That is an interesting one. The Mets could take on that contract without much issue. And adding him after Senga, who is expected to be healthy in '25, really helps fill out the rotation. I think Senga, Castillo, Peterson, Butto, then ______ (fill in the blank) ... that is a solid rotation. And, if the Mets could lure Manaea back too. Really strong rotation. I'd love to see that. Even if it costs McLean, who I think might be amazing down the road, plus another prospect (Morabito? Baro? Maybe even Vargas?). I could live with that. The Mets have a real opportunity in '25, if Stearns handles the offseason right. This could tilt a lot of ways. Exciting to think about.
This year the "dreadful" Seattle hitters posted a wRC+ of 104, including a league-leading wRC+ of 118 after August 15. Like most teams, the Mariners would welcome improved hitting but the M's are not starting at the bottom of the barrel.
wRC+ was good because Seattle is so hard to hit in. Results wise, they were 22nd in OPS at .687. They need a solution it's just a very difficult home park to find one
Crochet is AMAZING. If the Mets could trade for him, it will cost a ton. But it could be worth it. I think the Sox will want Sproat, Williams or Gilbert, and Clifford or maybe Tong. If the Mets could package Baty into that, I think it would be awesome ... but I don't think the Sox will go for that. I don't think Baty has much value. Honestly, .. Sproat, Williams, Tong seems like a package the Sox might bite on ... maybe another lower prospect. And that would hurt a lot to give up. But if Crochet could be healthy for several seasons ... worth it! This could be fascinating over time. Mets fans should not be under the misapprehension that Crochet would come without serious cost. I do not see it actually happening, personally, .. but I'm more than open to it.
@@johnpastore7685 Yeah. That is the issue. Can the Mets pry Crochet from the Sox without "giving up the farm." It will take a lot. That said, Crochet is a stud. Proven. The Mets prospects are projections. It is a very difficult calculus. I trust Stearns to make the right move. But it is certainly fun to think about Crochet in a rotation with Senga, and potentially Burnes. That could be epic. But, if it costs too much, it could hobble the franchise for years. That's why Stearns gets the big bucks, I suppose.
think Mullins offers a way higher offensive ceiling than Bader. Question is just whether that's worth the value of whatever prospect you trade for a one year rental
The more I think about Arenado, the more interesting it becomes. Viscerally, my reaction was "NO WAY," .. but the more I think about it, the more it potentially makes sense. It really could make sense for the Mets, depending on what happens with Soto and Alonso. IF the Mets nab Soto, let Alonso walk, and move Vientos to 1b ... Arenado actually kind of makes some sense, for the right cost. I will be surprised to see it actually happen, but it is interesting. Would LOVE to see the Mets trade for Fairbanks. He could really aid the pen. It would cost, but I think it can be done. Agree that Rooker would be awesome for the Mets. Don't see it happening.
@JamesSchiano and Nolan's isn't? The man is in his mid 30s. What would you like the Mets to do? Take on his contract, play him for the next 2 or 3 seasons, and let Vientos rot at DH, or worse, send him to the minors? I heard Seattle is looking to get rid of some money. Trade Baty for Castillo because PITCHING is something we actually need.
Arenado ?! No thanks Boys I get your points but you’re right there is a reason Mets fans aren’t as high on him anymore as we were when he was one of the best players in the league and it’s not that he’s a Cardinal it’s because he’s not that good anymore like at all his defense is very good not what it once was but his offense isn’t good anymore and with that money connected it’s Just a no for me dawg… Castillo thing would have me thinking long and hard depending on how steep the price is for Crochet … if you can snag Luis for idk: Baty, McNeil, Mauricio and idk a pitcher not one of our top top guys and I would imagine taking on his contact he could be had for something along those lines
Nolan Arenado is someone the Mets should have traded for a number of years ago. Now, I'm not sure, and I don't support the idea of moving Vientos to 1B, because that is NOT an upgrade from Alonso.
I believe your Nolan arenado contract analysis is incorrect. Aren’t you ignoring this: In addition, $6 million annually will be deferred with no interest from 2022-26, payable in 10 installments of $3 million on each July 1 from 2032-41.
We were just talking about the money he's due for these three years but looking back at it now I'm seeing $30M in '25, $27M in '26, and $15M in '27 so a slightly more expensive commitment than we thought
I'm not much of a fan of bringing in Mullins. He's a good player, and he'd likely be an upgrade for the Mets ... but I'm not sure he's worth giving up much in terms of prospects. If the Orioles give him away, okay ... consider it. Beyond that, I'm thinking "pass."
Nolan arenado is going to be 34 in April. He’s going to be Robinson cano. That’s a pass
Agreed. I don’t want Arenado anywhere near this team.
No way should we trade for him
Love the content boys keep it pumpin
Nobody is taking that Degrom contract.
Trading Mauricio or Gilbert would be insane.
Why? What were their MLB numbers last year?
The Mets are a win now team, now is not the time to prospect hug, it's time to cash in those chips.
Thank you for grinding out the stuff love it
You guys need to keep an eye out for Vlad Guerrero Jr's arbitration hearing and see what happens. I think the Mets can make a trade and land him.
I wish man!
Agree 😎
We were thinking about him but feel like it's so unlikely he gets moved. Would love though
Stop it with Degrom. Love the guy, but 50 innings a year for $37 million doesn’t compute. And an aging Arenado is an easy pass.
@@marcbenjamin9436 Huh? Nobody in this thread mentioned DeGrom, so I think you accidentally put this in the wrong place?? I do agree that Degrom is no longer worth it.
If I had to choose between Arenado and Bregman, I would rather have Bregman.

you can have arenado

Sorry, but you’re crazy if you think we’re gonna trade top prospects for de grom
Feels like the Mets need a CF badly unless the plan is to run Taylor out every day.
I thought of all those options and they sound good, but I definitely wouldn’t even entertain Mullins or Naylor
I was thinking Mcneil n a prospect for Castillo? Mariners had a crush on mcneil before
What about reuniting with Scherzer on a 1 year deal?
You wouldn’t have to trade prospect capital , just cash
Any thoughts on a potential Vladimir Guerrero Jr trade if Alonso doesn’t resign?
I like that idea, and have been presenting it as a possibility in various streams. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in Vlad's arbitration hearing.
Yeah, I’ve been saying the same thing try to land Junior or possibly sign Christian Walker to a couple of years 😅
Luis castillo trade really would be perfect for both teams. Mariners need to shed payroll and they have a lot of young inexpensive starters.

Great video guys. Not a fan of getting Arenado tho. Just let Vientos stay at 3rd and if Pete isn’t back sign/trade for another first baseman.
Feel you. Most agree haha, just tryna get creative and excited for Stearns to cook
Yeah, or they could see if they could land Christian Walker sign him for a couple of years 😅
What about Luis Robert?
Ridiculous to trade for so many players. Sign free agents !! Sign Burnes, Trevor Bauer.
