I've seen more compassion within Rhaenera's family. She actually comforts her son in grief while Allicent didn't for either of her son's. Leaving Aegon to grieve and go mad on his own, while Aemond is getting substitute motherly love at the brothel.
Alicent does seem to feel for/talk to her daughter… but I always remind people of this: Alicent’s children were conceived out of duty and necessity. Even though she liked Viserys, she was not attracted to him. Rhaenyra’s kids were conceived out of passion, and perhaps even love. The distinction is reflected in their motherhood.

I like how they show that the Greens are all so afraid to be there for each other with meaningful and hard connection. Aegon ignores Heleana at a time she desperately needed his affection. Otto cuts his increasingly sentimental time with Allicent shirt the moment she wants to admit her guilt and have him be a real father to her, and then in turn Allicent walks away from her oldest son sobbing and in despair at the death of his son. Little moments like could be used to set a new course but they all just don’t know how to be vulnerable with each other.
Otto being like: "I don't want to know" Like for real? Doesn't he care about hightower legacy? Is it okay for the king's mother to be fooling around? What happened to Otto the advisor? Smh 🫤
And Aemond has to look for comfort elsewhere being held as a baby. All in contrast to the blacks where Jace is comforted by his mother in the previous episode and Baela in this one talking about his 'fathers'.
That and the seed planted that otto placed, that vysaeris might not have believed he could be king. I think with everything going on, it probably just hit him a second time. ya know

OMG. SAAAAAME, literally everything she hated the taragaryans, she literally did herself. Practice incest, slept with her guard....oh, can't wait for her to get clapped,
I think he always knew. His hunger for power just blocked it from his view, and when it was taken away from him, that’s the only time he acknowledges it
Ah yes the guy who wanted to send guards to kill rhaenera getting angry that aegon sent a guard to kill her. What a hypocrite he's just angry he did that without his counsel angry that the person who he made king doesn't listen to him.
"Standing face to face, the Cargyll twins exchanged a sad and knowing look. 'I love you, brother,' Erryk said, as he unsheathed his sword. 'And I you, brother,' Arryk reciprocated as he gripped his own." --Fire and Blood, Chapter 94: Farewell, My Brother

Yep team greens storyline is basically the cycle of abuse. Alicent with an emotionally negligent father who exploits her and gives and makes her a child bride for Viserys, then has a child when she herself is a child, Viserys doesn’t seem to spend any time with their kids, she does love her children but that doesn’t change how she abuses them.

57:17 they are actual twins. Their names are Luke and Elliott Tittensor (grow up when you hear it 😅). Erryk wasn't mortally wounded. He'd killed his twin, and kinslaying is considered to be one of the worst crimes in Westeros. Ser Erryk was a true knight, as evidenced by his revulsion to discover Aegon's bastard in the fighting pit. He also viewed Rhaenyra as the rightful heir to the throne which is why he brought her her father's crown. Being a true knight, I don't think his honor could bear the stain of having slain his brother.
What you said reminds me of what I thought about aemon in S1 when he stole vhagar,he was a guest at driftmark, the gods took his eye but he shouldn't of been allowed to keep a dragon he stole.death to them both
When the assasins asked daemon what to do if they can't find aemon, the scene cut. We dont know what he said, but the assasins kept saying a son for a son, implying that that was daemon's answer to their question.

I'm so glad the show actually casted TWINS and not just CGI duplicated the same actor. It made the characters and the scene more meaningful. Amazing performance from Luke and Elliot Tittensor!
I also had to cheer on Otto when he lost it with Aegon. You reap what you sow and Otto put all this in motion, he loved Viserys and the realm BUT he put in his own interests ahead of that and look where we’re at.
To all my Game of Thrones people, I have not see the show but has Sir Cristen Cole now become a character that’s arguably more hated then any one character in GOT yet? At least after two seasons. Or do we still need more time?
yes, joffery was at least a child and ramsy was a straight maniac and embraced it and wanted to be a bad guy but cole is just a slithery snakey bitch 😂
Alan's brother says that Lord Corlys owes him, and then we saw him looking at one of the dragons flying past so maybe Alan will become a dragon rider for one of the unclaimed dragons.
The king's mother fooling around with the guard and giving the occassional foot thingy to Larys is pretty much self centred. Also it was because of her and criston that the royal quarters were left unguarded, leading to the lose of the king's son.
some of the best dialogue and performances in GOT or HOTD history were in this episode but the episode’s camera blocking and editing bothered me to no end. the coverage and cuts were all over the place… especially in the daemon rheanyra scene. I wish they’d just effin calmed down and let the actors cook in a medium long shot and feel the power of their performances rather than that crazy ass blocking with bad framing and horrible edits. ugh. it’s so annoying. I want to watch that scene again but from just a single camera. can you imagine that whole fight in a single take?
I'm so torn watching this show and then watching the cast interviews 😂 coz Christian Cole is scum but Fabien is so lovely, it's so weird to watch him be a character so unlikeable

Exploiting a dead kid is insane, ugh.
I've seen more compassion within Rhaenera's family. She actually comforts her son in grief while Allicent didn't for either of her son's. Leaving Aegon to grieve and go mad on his own, while Aemond is getting substitute motherly love at the brothel.
Alicent does seem to feel for/talk to her daughter… but I always remind people of this:
Alicent’s children were conceived out of duty and necessity. Even though she liked Viserys, she was not attracted to him.
Rhaenyra’s kids were conceived out of passion, and perhaps even love.
The distinction is reflected in their motherhood.
Rhaenera also was a little cold to Baela. I thought that was weird. Maybe she only saw Daemon in her in that moment. IDK.
@@jjfam777 Yes. I feel Rhaenera is putting Beala at risk because she is not her own child.
@@lafields08yup. also, alicent’s kids as well. who were forced to marry & bear kids out of duty that’s why they seem very distant from each other even though they both share a loss. remember, growing up aegon & haleana weren’t even that close. Aegon was closer to Aemon. Halaena was a bit neglected so that sibling bond was never there in the first place between them which carried into their marriage.
Jace: I can fly out with vermax and...
Rhaenyra: NO!
But she has no problem sending Baela out to be her spy at kings landing, I understand it she just lost her kid, but Baela doesn't deserve that. Rhaenyra is not as innocent as everyone tries to make her out to be.. and alicent has never been good with handling emotions, she forces helaena to do the whole grieving mother in public thing while her daughter is traumatised and heartbroken, and she leaves aegon breaking down to be with Cole. She was raised with otto's cold parenting technique so I'm not surprised.

Fun fact, Arya Stark is chasing cats in GOT because they’re the new rat catchers.

@maximumpotential3796 in the book, Otto brought in 100 cats after Aegon executed all the rat catchers.

Yeah it's pretty dysfunctional and sad.
Otto being like: "I don't want to know"
Like for real? Doesn't he care about hightower legacy? Is it okay for the king's mother to be fooling around? What happened to Otto the advisor? Smh 🫤
And Aemond has to look for comfort elsewhere being held as a baby. All in contrast to the blacks where Jace is comforted by his mother in the previous episode and Baela in this one talking about his 'fathers'.

bro that scene between otto and aegon was just masterful
One of my favorite moments was when Otto realized that Viserys was right. "He was right about you."
Otto : I've made a grave mistake high tower .
I think he always knew. His hunger for power just blocked it from his view, and when it was taken away from him, that’s the only time he acknowledges it
I also loved how disgusted Otto looked when Aegon gave the badge to Crispin Coke.
Ah yes the guy who wanted to send guards to kill rhaenera getting angry that aegon sent a guard to kill her. What a hypocrite he's just angry he did that without his counsel angry that the person who he made king doesn't listen to him.
and in the end, Aegon was still a better king than Rhaenyra...

Tom as Aegon is such a treat. His acting is superb and it gets better and better each episode.
It was Daemon's answer. There is no reason to doubt Blood.

The king's mother fooling around with the guard and giving the occassional foot thingy to Larys is pretty much self centred. Also it was because of her and criston that the royal quarters were left unguarded, leading to the lose of the king's son.
