Gunung Relau & Batu Berangkai Waterfall 🌻 Kampar, Perak 🇲🇾

Mysterious boxes of ammo from World War 2 awaits you at the peak of Gunung Relau (951meter)!
Gunung Relau ~ also known as Cannon Hill, is a historical yet challenging mountain, located at Kampar, Perak (2 hours drive from the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
The peak does not have any nice view but interesting artifacts left from The Battle of Kampar (en.wikipedia.o...) during World War 2 which involves the British and Indian troops from the 11th Indian Infantry Division and the Japanese 5th Division.
TRAIL INFO ~
DIFFICULTY LEVEL : Moderate - Hard
DISTANCE : 14km (return journey)
ELEVATION GAIN : 900m
1. Google / Waze to Gunung Relau Trailhead
2. Park near Taman Ros car park area and walk 1.1km to Batu Berangkai Waterfall as parking is limited near the waterfall area)
3. Walk to the jungle trailhead which is just 5 minutes away
4. Follow the piping to Pondok Orang Asli
5. Walk thru thick bushes and you will reach a Y junction. Left is to Gunung Bujang Melaka and right is a river stream & crossing to Gunung Relau
You will need :
FORESTRY PERMIT

BRING (suggestion)
- Hiking shoes with good grip. NO jogging shoes or sneakers!
- 2L of water (I brought 1L)
- light snacks & lunch (can go FOOD shopping like me in the video at 0:21)
- Poncho or rain jacket (I didn't bring)
- Extra clothes to change.
- Gloves(I didnt't bring that too)
- Mandatory whistle and headlamp
- Own first aid kit or personal meds if any
- Hiking pole
- Cap or head cover (didnt't have this also ... )
- Leech repellent or leech socks (overly BERANI MATI - shorts & high compression socks saje)

Well done even though this YT was a year ago. I am David from Ipoh but migrated to Kampar,since 2018. Yesterday with one 50+ yrs old friend n myself 71 yrs old,we both made our "maiden hike " up to see the historical relics! Tough hike made worse by rain on Friday night. Leeches had a good time tasting our blood! Admire your strong cheerful spirit! Keep it up! As for me, besides leeches,I had my share of crashing,falling slipping n even bending one of the trekking poles! Biggest error.. was the wrong selection of shoes! Anyway, happy to succeed as "warga mas". Cheers!

Thank you for your reply and tips. I had looked around for some form of anti-leech socks and finally on Sat 2/12/23, found one type by deer creek, rm 28.00. Will try and review at my next hike. Happy hiking!

I have family members around Kampar, Tapah, Gopeng, but have never known about this hiking place. Congrats for accomplishing this thrilling activity and thanks for sharing the video. I love the river, so refreshing. Oh, also love the picnic scene with the thermos of coffee 😅
