At last, a guide that's worthy of Babymetal. The "Kohaku Uta Gassen" ("Red-White Song Competition") appearance last New Years Eve can't be emphasized enough. It was huge for Babymetal. "Kohaku" is an entertainment institution in Japan, going back to the 1950s, and is much bigger than a Budokan concert for name-recognition in Japan. At the end of the program, the artists were all arranged on the stage (with social distancing) waiting for the votes to be tabulated and the hosts making small talk, and Babymetal were placed nearly in the center of the stage, unheard of for a first-time act on "Kohaku". (What's shown in the video is not the end of the show but a publicity event before the show that Babymetal and some of the other artists took part in.) Also, the camera focused momentarily on Su and Moa and they flashed the fox sign. That kind of camera-time is unusual for first-timers and wasn't an accident - it must have been arranged between broadcaster NHK and the Amuse agency (which shows Amuse's, or Babymetal's, clout). NHK have been trying to expand their programming overseas, and they finally realized they couldn't ignore Babymetal any longer. The Red team (female artists) had been on a losing streak, but they slammed the White team (male artists) this show, doubling them up in the voting. It's been attributed by the Japanese music media to the appearance of Babymetal, NiziU (a Japanese version of K-Pop girls groups) and LiSA (who is very big in Japan at the moment because of a hit anime film she sings the theme song for). Babymetal made it to the big-time.
update: A new member was announced on 1 April 2023. Momo metal. Momoko officially became the new member of Babymetal and now also sings all of Yui's old parts.
Good Job!!! 👍😁 This new version has all the errors and rough edges knocked off, and it has a much soother flow. I like the new material, especially relating to MIKIKO, and the previous material that you kept is more balanced.
Wow. I laughed and teared up, each multiple times. What a journey our girls have had. Can't believe it's been over a decade metal and joy. Hard work? This video is almost entirely ripped word for word, clip for clip and pic for pic from the "Unhelpful Guide to Babymetal" video that was released a year before this. sad that Riho metal will not be continuing She did an excellent job. I really wished someone had even one ounce of info on the whereabouts of YUI. I had a dream she returned at Babymetal's final show in 2027, on Su Metals 30th birthday... About 3/4 the way through, one of avengers was crucified covered with a black cloth and when the black cloth was revealed, a bit later, it was *YUI METAL* performing the last 5 songs the girls will ever sing and dance to together, as one, BABYMETAL. Who likes this dream? ( except for Babymetal disbanding forever) part ! eeeks heartbreak. Everything has to come to an end....

Thanks for making this video, I bought my bf and j tickets to their LA show this year because he loves them so much but I never really got into them as much but I wanted to prep myself so my boyfriend has a fun time and doesn't have to keep explaining everything to me. Thanks!!
If this is your first time making a guide, I would say very well done. Information are concise and well organised, I like this guide, as sometimes, some guides added inside-jokes or memes that might confused or give new fans wrong impressions. I do have some suggestions: 1. Some pages have too many wordings, I know you trying to give information as complete as possible, but too many wordings means people will be too focusing on pausing and reading the video, thus your narration tends to be ignored or become meaningless 2. Split into sessions and add titles to each sessions, so that the viewer will know if they are on Introductions, or learning the event chronologically and on which year 3. Add subtitles, especially if you do no.1. Need to be wary on the font of subtitles though, as it will decide if people love your video or not 4. When showing cutscenes, performance or stage videos, please put descriptions on the video (location, time and what we supposed to focus on) Just some small suggestions, you can decide if you want to take it or not. Will be looking forward to your next video, if any incoming. Cheers

Your English looks good to me! I’m happy to provide you a fun way to learn the language. Pretty sure Yui was signed by Amuse much earlier than age 11 which was when she officially "transferred in" to SG. Yui was at the final Karen Girl's performance (2009) with her agent when she made the decision and insisted to him and her parents that she wanted to "be a Karen Girl's." There was apparently discussion as to whether or not she would continue to pursue being an Idol leading up to that. Yui was also in the earlier Amuse production of "It's Prius World!" lead by Kuramoto and had many children in a psuedo-classroom and field trip setting featuring Yui along with some other future SG members Moa, Rinon, Yunano and at least 3 of the 98's. There's a thread on the SakuraGakuin reddit that talks about it and had some of the pictures attached or linked. The lead picture on the thread shows Moa, Raura and Yui. She was also doing TV commercials and acting although I don't know if that was through Amuse.
Do you have any sources for this stuff? I would totally include it in the video, but I don’t put anything in there unless I can find evidence of it happening and/or multiple sources

One suggestion andone question : Suggestion : perhaps just quickly mention, who writes the songs. Not names or anything, just the fact that Koba assembles songwriters to write and musicians to record the music. Question : about the Legend S concert, and the audiences very harsh reaction is Yui not being there. Is that from an interview or? I don't believe that the SG position of "President of the Student Council" is actually an elected position. The lead member is appointed by The Staff and generally falls to the eldest or most senior. (Yes, Moa is younger than Yui). There was some middle school drama around Su being chosen because some members thought of her as "unreliable" and apparently Raura thought she would be a good chairperson. This caused Nene a lot of angst as she was torn between them. I believe this was the hard time Nene referred to in her speech to the Kouhai as a senior in the friends video. It resolved well in the end with even Raura saying Su was a reliable senior in the Surprise video. Would like to know if someone has a definitive answer for this.
Thank you for doing this. Great info. . . . Two things I noticed . . . . 1. Wish the humor was present in this one as much as your original "Unhelpful" guide. Was that you? Especially when watching folks react to it. Maybe it is just the different computer voice because there seems to be a couple attempts . . Yui starring into your soul. . .lol . . . Kinda loses it in the delivery . . lol 2. Don't know if you pick the thumbnail clip or RUclips does, but it shows the crucifixion of Su Metal. You know that is a massive spoiler to new kitsune who mouse over it before they have reacted to BMD. Nonetheless this is terrific and I know it must have taken you much time to put together. Thank you again and Kitsunes UP! 🤘🦊🤘

You mention Moa being SG president, but don't mention Yui being the first (and only) Production Chairman and creating the live show setlists for SG dating back to at least 2012... maybe on version 3.0?
I've done a LOT of research and spent a lot of time asking a bunch of people what should be included this and I have never seen or heard anyone mention this ever lol
This may be a reference to what's here: ameblo.jp/sakuragakuin/entry-12009922479.html?frm=theme and here: ameblo.jp/sakuragakuin/entry-11968964985.html?frm=theme Setlists drawn up by Yui. (セットリスト is Japanese for "setlist".)
@@crypticmisery7996 She wrote in her SG diaries that she did the setlists and in Su's graduation speech, she talked about Yui creating their setlists. It's said that it was because of Yui that they played ROR in England before Japan, so even in BM she had influence of not outright control of what they played.
@@crypticmisery7996 whatever it is: she can flex like nobody's business ! She was even featured in a video about flexible famous Japanese people/artists. :-)
Hey man, if you are ever going to revisit this guide, I have a few suggestions based on watching some reactions to your guide: 1) Only say that the girls were worried if fans would accept them without Yui. I'm sure they've never said, or anyone was really worried about dumb crap like booing, or throwing stuff at them because of Yui leaving. This is a remnant of the "toxic guide" you've tried to fix, it's fake news that makes viewers uncomfortable and gives an impression that BM fanbase is extremely toxic, just axe that line. 2) Skip the chosen seven and metal galaxy lore, unlike fox god stuff, it's convulted, forced and no one cares about it, it clearly bores and confuses everyone that watch these videos. Instead earlier add an explanation about neckbrace being a tribute to Joshiki from XJapan who had to wear it because he headbanged too hard, this is at least funny. 3) Kami band members not being the ones who play on studio tracks is also probably for the most part false too, especially for the 2nd and 3rd albums. They don't write the music that is true, but to use different musicians to record studio tracks doesn't make any sense even from a purely bussiness perspective. Otherwise an excellent job, I truly enjoyed it, when it served it's purpose of introducing me to BM few months ago.
I have been considering re-doing it, but I’m swamped working and attending college both full time, so, perhaps when I have free time again, I’ll remake and update it.

That’s how it was worded on one of the sources I used, I don’t even remember which, but regardless, yes I know they weren’t actually voted.
Thank you for doing this. Great info. . . . Two things I noticed . . . .
1. Wish the humor was present in this one as much as your original "Unhelpful" guide. Was that you? Especially when watching folks react to it. Maybe it is just the different computer voice because there seems to be a couple attempts . . Yui starring into your soul. . .lol . . . Kinda loses it in the delivery . . lol
1. I didn’t make that video, rnegitsune did. I am not trying to make the same video and/or copy her. Her’s is funnier, mine is more informative.
2. I don’t think you can choose what clip it previews
@@crypticmisery7996 ah. ..it probably just randomly plays it in mouse over mode. . . . .that is what I thought. . . . Sorry. . My bad thinking you may have made the other video. Please ignore my I'll informed critisisms. . .Yes yours is updated and much more comprehensive indeed. Great tool for all future fox followers. Kitsunes up!
Yes a beginners guide to BABYMETAL but also some things that we fans may not know, thanks for the knowledge.
SUZUKA NAKAMOTO--- She sacrificed herself in front of 20,000 people - she was sacrificing her human existence and life as Suzuka Nakamoto the J-Pop Idol to be reborn as Su-metal the Metal Goddess chosen to lead the Metal Resistance.
I think we are all on board as our METAL GODDESS QUEEN & IDOL LEGEND SU-METAL leads us on this journey called METAL RESITANCE!!!!!!!
Who waits with prudence
Who will be rewarded at the right time
Now the waiting has an end
Lending your ear to a legend ( SU-METAL )
BABYMETAL 4 LIFE.....

Setlists drawn up by Yui.
@@teuchterloon9130 How have I never seen this anywhere? I’ve read a bunch of the diaries too...
@@crypticmisery7996 Don't sweat it. Presumably you'll update the guide eventually.
0:44 also WTF is Suzuka's hand doing there :-) This girl is extremely flexible.
Isn’t she double jointed? I have no clue if that’s true but I feel like I remember reading that somewhere.
@@crypticmisery7996 whatever it is: she can flex like nobody's business ! She was even featured in a video about flexible famous Japanese people/artists. :-)
@@autohmae Could you check my message to you in reddit ?
She has hypermobility in her finger joints.. I have it as well, and in my knees.. they bend backwards a bit...
Hey man, if you are ever going to revisit this guide, I have a few suggestions based on watching some reactions to your guide:
1) Only say that the girls were worried if fans would accept them without Yui.
This video is almost entirely ripped word-for-word, clip-for-clip and pic-for-pic from the "Unhelpful Guide to Babymetal" video that was released a year before this. This guy basically just took another person's video and re-edited it to look slightly different, but contain the exact same content presented in the same order it was in the original he copied it from.
Great job !!!
