this project is going to be added to my 'to do' list. I love the style of this and the economical use of papers. Such a clear and easy to follow tutorial 🙂
I thought this video was the best. You are so detailed and explicit in you explanations, nothing was at all confusing, I feel quite confident in replicating this method. You didn’t need to apologise for being boring as I needed to watch every single second. I love this type of box and did not know that I could build it myself. Thank you so much for your excellent lesson.
I've made my box, just waiting for papers to arrive and your next tutorial. Your videos and explanations are so easy to follow, you make crafting a pure pleasure! 😍
This is wonderful. Your instructions in your videos are the best. I just finished making the pop up butterfly card and it turned out so nice. I am saving it for my Daughter’s birthday in January because she loves butterflies. Thank you.
Another amazing tutorial Paul, you made it so easy to understand, all your hints and tips are so helpful I will definitely be making this box over the bank holiday weekend, I literally can’t wait to watch all the other videos
Just found your channel, and I’m so glad I did. Your projects are simply gorgeous, and I love all your tutorials. Your instructions are so easy to follow, and I love how you are able to make them with minimum paper wastage.
Such a great box and tutorial. This is my next project, I can't wait to make this! Now I just need to choose my Design Paper- decisions, decisions.... Also, where do you buy your magnets? They sound very strong, I live in the United States, hopefully I can purchase them or at least get them shipped here. Thanks for the info! Love all your videos!
Made one, one to go. But I don't have the construction tape so I started out with making the box with paper construction strips. Then I covered all sides of the pieces of the wrap with paper strips like you do with the tape. I hadn't thought about how to connect them though, should have thought of that earlier. The box doesn't look too bad but I keep seeing the imperfections. Alas, the second box will be better, I know what to do now 😂. Due to how I had to connect the pieces of the wrap I didn't glue the spine to the box. My lid lies flat on the surface when the box is open. Otherwise I feared my paper hinge would crack rather soon. But it still works.
I’ve just discovered Paul Ford! and what an amazing discovery has been! PERFECT TUTORIAL! simple, clear instructions, (not an over the top tutorial-youtuber -voice, ie: “I’m going to hold the scissors in my hand to cut!” 🙄) straight to the point, concise, precise! 🤗 He should start a RUclipsr Tutorials College! 😆
New subscriber - I've just finished watching your video constructing this box and I have also watched making the wallets. Thank you so much for your great tutorials. I enjoyed them and I certainly will have a go myself. I love Stamperia papers and Graphic 45. It's going to be hard to choose which one to use first! Love from Australia xo
Glad you have enjoyed it. You’ll enjoy the Facebook group and see all the ones the members have made using different papers and hopefully we’ll see yours there too when you are ready to share facebook.com/groups/334868694336217/
Just gotten round to making the box and all the wallets, now to decide on the papers, either G45 or Stamperia. will video when finished. Thank you for 7 amazing tutorials xx Cant find the wee cool Kats closures in the uk xx
I just found your channel. Absolutely beautiful box. Looking forward to binge watching your other videos. I think I would use black card stock cause I’m a bit lazier than you. 😅 but would still need to reinforce the sides. The mitered corners with the paper is brilliant! Love how you did this.
It’s gorgeous! I reached you channel Linked in Yvanca’s one. Could you please siete the thickness of the chipboard you uses for this project? Thank u very much
Thank you so much, looking forward to this so much. Would love some of that tape, but although the tape is a reasonable price ($12), it’s $35 delivery to Australia, so I will have to look for an a,ternative 😜
You don’t have to have tape at all. In the video I show construction strips (one inch wide and scored down the middle). This is a common method for box construction.
I just gave you incorrect information as I thought you were talking about the Amazonia paper - sorry about that. But for the tape, have you checked out Bunnings? I have obtained some of the best tapes etc., especially for spines and bookbinding. I sound like an advert for these businesses, I am not they just swallow up a lot of my money in crafting supplies.
@@01doha Hey, I just found Gorilla tape at Spotlight today it is only 1'' wide which seems to be hard to find these days, it is only $11 but it looks like a binding tape, it is so strong, well worth a look I reckon.
Hi Paul. Would it be easy to conveart this box to be made from the 8 x8 paper pad , do you think? Woulf i need to reduce measurements by a third? Than k you . :-) x
Resizing is fine but if you just reduced everything like that, the photo’s wouldn’t fit. I think I would halve the size of the box and keep to the smaller wallets.
Love this. Would love to have a go, this will be my first ever attempt at something like this. What type of black tape are you using please? I looked at black tape on amazon but there's so much choice. Thank you
das klebeband habe ich gefunden bei My Creative Spirit.com. Ich weiss nicht wo es in den Niederlande zu kaufen ist. Es ist sehr reissfest und leicht zu verarbeiten. Schau doch nal nach Gruss, Jose
For those of us in US [chipping makes it prohibitive to order from CreativeCatz] which tape off Amazon is best substitution? Still 'construction tape"? Width? Also, If I use black chip board [grey board to you] can I skip the initial step to tape all edges?
Thanks for your thoughts. I didn’t want to skip any parts but did cut the board, build and decorate within that time. Sorry you didn’t enjoy the way I shared the tutorial.

For boxes, the tape from My Creative Spirit. Cool Katz also make a good tape called Architape which is great for album spines.

Definitely can skip it and use ‘construction strips’ of card instead if the inside is black. I show this in the video as an alternative.

What is the thickness of the acetate are you using?
Not sure as has no label. It’s a medium thickness I’d say, strong but still flexible.
