  • A good charger with a lot of features but the interface is clunky and difficult to use. Might be ok for some people but it's not for me.

It's surprising they can fit, pretty much, half of one of my 308Duos into one of these little things, and for only 1/3 the price. I'd still rather have a 308, but it was interesting to see this little charger. I'm sure I'll be recommending this to heli and EDF pilots at my club as a cheaper alternative to the better ichargers. Though I also find it interesting how many people just don't get how the programming on a newer Icharger interface works. It makes it SO EASY to switch between ANY KIND OR SIZE of battery in just a couple clicks. Only problem is, you have to go through the motions of ADDING new programs and setting up a program for each kind, or at least how much current you want the batteries to charge. Because the programs will auto detect voltage and cells of lipos. Usually you just have to setup something like 10 presets with different current amounts like 2.2A, 4.4A, 8.8A, 12A, 15A, 20A, 30A, etc. Then you just select the program you want, which is a lot less steps than the editing of a program you showed in this video. Once you select a program. It doesn't matter if you plugged in a 2S, 3S, 6S, or 8S. It auto detects and starts charging at the current for the program you selected once you start the charge process. Changing programs is probably the most complex part. Having to click the button, scroll to the program you want and then click/hold the button to select the program. I guess for some people it's just to hard to take 30 minutes to make up some presets when they get the charger. I've always said icharger should have done these from the factory. But still, I never understood why people never seem to get how easy and flexible these ichargers are to use once you take a little bit of time to set them up, one time, when you first get one. Not for nothing, but the SD slot allows you to backup, save, and share preset configurations. So it wouldn't be hard to transfer presets from charger to charger, or person to person. So I also find it surprising that I haven't ever seen forum threads with people posting their own presets for people to try. I'd post up my 308 presets. But I doubt they'd load into a X6 from a 308 or other model.

Try holding in the button when a charge has started, it might allow you to change the charge current. I have their bigger charger and have set the programs to a low charge rating and change it after I have started a charge on the fly.

you guys realize you can save different programs right? I saved a 5amp a 6.5, a 15. Cell count is auto detected... I’ve got 4 of these chargers and it’s very quick from power on to charging fo my different batteries. Also, You can change amperage while charging.

just found a balance cable charger for 4X at one time with DC input. I realize this method is slow but I never had a lipo fire charging thru the balance leads ! also great way to tweak the cells back into balance....

I HATE LIPOS !! BUT I LOVE FPV ….so I deal. when I hear that psss and crinkle of foil then that sweet smell as it gasses I IMMEDIATELY jump to get ready for the next step. I NEVER EVER charge indoors. Typically at the field with a 20' extension cord running from the car battery to keep away from car. I also keep a small metal garbage can with wet sand in the car. If a LIPO pops while driving I can IMMEDIATELY using gloves get it into the can. LIPOS SUCK !!!!

It doesn't really bother me to have to choose a different charge current every time. I am never in so much of a hurry that I can take a minute to setup my charger each time. That being said however I don't charge in the field. Maybe it would be different if I did.

I just seem to never charge the same number or size of batteries. I fly planes, helicopters, and quadcopters all with vastly different sized batteries. Depending on what I feel like flying and how long I will be out, I will mix and match any number of those batteries on the charger (often I even have several chargers going at once). Either way I must calculate my ideal current for charging so it just never seemed to save me much time to store various programs.
