I've been wanting to get a great kilt for camping and was wondering how 16 oz fabric compares to the 13 oz; how it hangs, how bulky looking it would be. I like the looks of the 13 oz. Thanks for these videos.
You're welcome. I've used both 16, 13, 11 oz wool and 13 is my all-around favourite; 11 oz is good for warmer weather. 16 just seems too bulky for me and I really feel it on my back.
Please pardon my delay in replying. I have tried it standing a few times and can ... more or less get it. But it doesn't save me any time and it always looks messier than pleating it on the bed. I would choose to fold it standing if I had to do because there wasn't a clean place to lay down my cloth
@@jhohlkennedy that's exactly what I figured too. If I was out in the wilds where I don't care about how the pleats look, I would just pleat it well enough to get around my waist. Everytime I've tried it standing up the pleats end up about 9" wide.
@@northwindhomestead907 Honestly, if I were out in the wild, I'd just want to wear it in a way that felt good and light and, secondly, didn't make me look TOO much like a fool!
Really appreciate the inspiration and ingenuity
Thanks for that!
Thank you for your content, I have learned so much from your videos.
I'm pleased! :)

hell yeah, good stuff
I post so little; but I actually do a lot with the kilt. Sometimes I wonder about producing more content but then ... nawwww.
Where do you buy your plaids at all I've found are $200-$500 i would love a grate kilt no stitching any suggestions
I usually obtain mine from Lochcarron. If you sign up for their email newsletters, they sometimes send out discount codes.
Have you had any success folding the pleats while standing?
