Thank you. Thank you. I was just attempting to replace the cabin air filters in my 1998 E300 Diesel. I removed all the screws and could not pull the glove compartment out. it felt that something was still attached around the light area. I quickly performed a google search. Using your video as a guide, I discovered that a little encouraging with a pry bar was the answer!
This is a good video. For those that are struggling to do the same replacement. You could alternatively remove the screws holding the undercarriage of the glove box area and stick your hand up there pull the casing toward you and pull down casing falls, and aircon filters will fall out nice and easy :)
I understand that 1996 - 2006 E320 class are all like this. My 2001 has eight pairs of screws. One pair on the upper edge facing you. One plasitc pair of the side edges. On pair on the bottom edge. And one pair recessed to either side of latch. All are Phillips head. but the recessed one requires a very short screwdriver less than 3.5 inches. With all four pairs out one can then pull towards yourself, straight out. Over-engineered, very DYI unfriendly.
PLEASE NOTE I have got a w210 wagon/estate, 2001, E200K and after I did what is shown on the video I found that my filter is not there! Instead on that place was the bits of the air conditioning unit! I suggest you first try to disassemble the cover above the 'passenger's feet' or below the glove box. My filter is there and is a single filter with a uneven near circular shape - not two filter as shown on this video. It unclips for a minute. At the end I found it way easier to change my filter. Detaching the glovebox is not as easy - I have unscrewed 8 bolts to detach mine!
I have successfully removed all of the screws except for the two at the top of the compartment. which appear to be a bit larger then the others Are those screws a different?

i have e290 td and i have a big problem!!! he can't go over 3000rpm!!! please help me
Thanks!!!
you are welcome…..
Very fucking helpful
Haha got it out but mine looks nothing like yours?
Is it irregularly shaped; like a wedge? The W210 here is rectangular. Will have to see what type one's car is first before buying.
