This is not Rhodesia and don't blame the old system for 44 years of corruption and mismanagement! Rhodesia was the second biggest African economy despite real sanctions. Now where are we. Do we even have a stable currency?

I'm relieved that there is someone who has realised what I tend to fantasise about. Government by specialists with no power hunger. Running the government should be a voluntary non profit effort that takes away your daily joys. I believe some future generations will laugh to hear that at one there was government by few people oppressing the rest , taking power, control and wealth while the masses do nothing about. Politics is no longer relevant

Brilliant! This is one person who sees through the fake ‘roads projects’ and asks the right questions - at what cost are those roads being ‘fixed’. As he says ‘hatingovharwi netara’. I’ve always told told ppl that the roads seem to be the hive of activity bcs it is the easiest way to loot money. Corrupt tender systems where tenders are awarded to unqualified ‘contractors’ who then subcontract and bleed gvmt coffers while hired mouthpieces sing about those roads …..

Very interesting interview, the guest should do more of these. It made a nice change from the usual suspects. I would go so far as to suggest that the guest considers having his own programme, to add to the diversity of political thought and discussion on these digital platforms.
He is spot on about house ownership not being an obvious sign of wealth. Many people sacrifice to build or buy homes because rental rates are extortionate and subject to frequent rise, tenancy rights are insecure because one is at the mercy of landlords, and there is no meaningful provision of affordable housing by the State. In countries with advanced economies such as continental European nations, some people rent well into their retirement years because there is no pressure to buy a home. The cost of rent can be around thirty per cent of one's income, tenants' rights are well protected by the law, and there is more than enough housing to go around and therefore tenants aren't subject to spikes in the cost of rent or to shortages of available property.

From the start of the liberation war, 1965 to 1980, Rhodisia was under international sanctions, including from UK. The economy was doing fine. The Rhodisian dollar and later in 1980 Zimbabwean Dollar was stronger than all European currencies and the USA dollar.

I have always thought Themba Mliswa is very reasonable. But on this occasion, I don’t think so. Themba knows that rigging requires someone who has control of ZEC, Min of Justice under which the courts fall incl other gvt agencies. Courts in Zim operate according to the ZPF doctrines, e.g. courts allowed Tshabangu’s recalls but defied any other outside the ZPF orbit

Jealousy is not genuine in this interview. If he believes that he stands for truth and constitutionalism and the people's vote is premium, then he should also be able to understand that people voted for CCC as a political party regardless of how the party is constituted and The fact that people are not beholden to banks for their mortgages, loans and businesses is actually a good thing because if when when we start rebuilding the economy after ZanuPf,the interest rates will be guided by the homeowners and landowners rather than the capitalists.
