Tenontosaurus saved my life!! A wholesome story in The Isle Evrima

- For all the chaos and dying and betrayal that comes with a dinosaur survival game, there are some surprisingly heartwarming moments to be found. Having these kinds of unexpected, unscripted stories made with other people are a huge part of why I love this game so much. And no, I didn't know the person playing the tenonto. Being different species, we couldn't chat in-game the whole time.
I set a bit of a different goal with this video: trying to tell a story without words or emphasizing gameplay mechanics, in hopes that my friends who don't know this game will be able to enjoy the video regardless. (to viewers this applies to, did it work??)
thanks for watching! Idk if i'll ever make a video like this one again, but who knows. I had to put in a lot more effort figuring out how to edit with this one lol. im totally still learning but it was pretty fun!

Oh my gosh, I was that teno!!! I've had this on my mind ever since, it's the best time I've had on The Isle in so long! After the restart that one time I stayed around to see if you'd come back and I'm glad I did! I still have the screenshots I took when we were at the beach

yes that was super fun just hanging out for so long!! it was like a breath of fresh air. The whole ordeal made for such a special experience for me, for real. It's why I Really wanted to make the video about it! Also sorry for cracking your teno's skull during the carno scuffle, that spot got so laggy for me and i wasn't careful about it lol. To anyone reading this and curious: youtube deleted EmiTheRat's reply here for some reason, but we managed to chat anyway. They were the tenonto in the video!!! So awesome that we could bump into each other outside of the game :D Anyway super shoutout to Emi, they're a really cool person! ^^

This is what a like about this game. Playing with same race is fine, but when you play with other race and cant chat with each other and have to just watch their behave and signals, there is just something special about it. Btw great choice of music for video.
i agree so much!! it really pulls me into the game more when i'm not using the chat feature, surprisingly. exactly what you said, there is something special about it. trying to communicate without words and gambling your trust is just more exciting yet simple somehow (and it kind of works out given that you can't always trust people in chat either in this game lol)
It's moments like that which make the game so fun to play. It's so fun to just be able to chill after a good fight when you survive it. Great video.

These are the moments I live for in The Isle and why it remains my favorite game
right!? a lot of the game can be tiresome, but when something exciting happens it's really something else
I really felt the struggle of raptors teleporting on you, but I think you made surviving harder on yourself by going down in those rocks. I only saw 3 raptors, I think I would be confident enough to take all of them on. But really depends on player skill too. Once you break their legs they get scared and run away.
gosh yeah i did not handle the fight well. the IDEA was i would buck any pounces off the cliff edge and they would be too scared to keep going, but i messed up on even that(i literally started hitting the wrong keys once i got pounced xD). i did count while editing and there were 5 raptors though, and that's plenty too much. i've had enough bad situations before with 2 or 3 raptors, i'll often get a couple body breaks but then bleed out anyway u_u wish i were more skilled but im not

Moments like this are the reason I got and still play the game. The survival and fighting are fun but the fleeting friendships are better.
Agreed, and the fleeting friendships give survival and fighting more weight which makes it all the better
That was such a fun video to watch, to think that all of it happened naturally. One would think it was at least roughly scripted lol. Amazing.

thanks! i actually got nested with this skin but it's really pretty and has grown on me a lot given ive miraculously had this pachy a while lol. (normally i'm a more flashy color like purple or blue tbh) and this was on NA4. it always displays in the top right of the character menu if you are ever looking for it, but i only opened the menu for half a second in this vid anyway so it's hard to see.

I was once a Dryo and was being chased by a carno then 2 pachys neither of them full grown saved my life and the smaller peachy died of bleed

Ever try Path of Titans? If you look past all the bad people it is a very fun and beautiful game.
i've never tried it, no. visually it looks beautiful but the gameplay doesn't seem too interesting from what i've seen in videos. i could be wrong tho, and maybe i'll pick it up someday.
@@littlemadster It's kinda like The Isle except you 1: only lose a bit of growth on death 2: do quests based on your location to grow 3: can group with others of your kind, ie herbivores can group only with other herbivores while carnivores can only group with carnivores 4: graphics (like you mentioned) are much better 5: it is cross-platform being on computer, PlayStation, Xbox, and most mobile devices 6: less dinosaurs (for now) and only one smaller map (also for now). Those are some of the major differences between Path of Titans and The Isle (never played The Isle so I'm sure there are a lot more). Also some of the devs that worked on The Isle moved to Path of Titans. Sorry for the mouthful, really passionate about dinosaurs and video games.

@@littlemadster Yea which is great because you could basically play wherever, you make an account for the game and you can connect it to other devices which means you could grow your dinosaurs on your phone then play the adults on your pc. Also there are a lot of toxic people(As I assume The Isle has) which is a downside but they are working on way to stop it which I'm really hopeful for.
in 6.5 update you would be 2 shot by a cerato if you ever walked in open
yup, i've been there! walking in the open is scary. at least pachy is faster than cera so running is an option.

This was one of the best things I've ever seen come out of this game, and that means something. I recall running into a swimming baby utah stuck in the water channel in the southern map way early update 4 as a full grown deino, and vs making a meal, I swam with them until they found land and could actually find safety. Its up there with 'cool story bro', but some of us who play(ed) try to be nice, promise xP
aw i'm glad you think so and enjoyed the vid! i've actually seen a decent amount of cordial or kind behavior from people in the isle, mostly solo players (i swear this game makes great examples of mob mentality lol). however, i do think it's most important that people can play how they want to. and that was kind of you to help them find land in that stretch of river! ^^ i think i know the part you are talking about, and it's easy to get lost and drown there

A rare sight to see indeed, been a good while since I've encountered something like this first hand so I'm glad you got to witness it. I always feel awkward in these situations too cause you never know what the other person is thinking, so you kinda have to just have trust in a random stranger. The true mindset I've come to learn in this game, don't trust anyone, not even your own species. You never know when they might turn on you. Wish it wasn't that way, but at least there are moments like these to share.
it feels common enough that different herbivore species will be nice to each other, but this was extra special for sure. very true, don't blindly trust anyone! (when i play pachy, every other pachy i meet wants to snap my ribs instead of teaming up.) trying to read other player's intentions thru their actions alone without words is rather fun tho, i must say. in this case it was easy to trust the stranger because they just stuck their neck out for me and i was basically dead otherwise. i also keep in mind that there will always be other players who want to play nice

Hey I think i saw you on that rock in the beginning but I was following a sub teno so I didn't go to you I was juvi pachy 1:02 I pretty sure that's me the little guy following the teno
I definitely heard a juvi pachy nearby around when i got spotted by the raptors (it was 3calling), but the dino following the teno at that timestamp was a hypsi. even so, good thing you didn't follow over to the raptors haha
