One of UM's best. Short version of the story behind the twin songs forward, then backward: Cadaver is about an individual dying and their ashes being pressurized into a diamond, then Revadac is about the soul/spirit of the person within the diamond being brought back to life.
An other notable thing about Unlucky Morpheus is that they are an independent band who basically do most of everything themselves. They hire people to mix their albums or man the cameras, but they are basically their own management including managing CD's and DVD's/Blu-rays, the singer Fuki also creates some of their outfits. They basically started out as a cover project for the Touhou project franchise (video games, but also other media), there is a big scene in Japan of people doing that and they are typically people who do that stuff in their free time as amateurs. They basically kept that spirit going when they were going from 2 people (only the female singer Fuki and the composer and guitarist Shiren) to a band with 6 amazing musicians. They are also really accepting about people reacting to their stuff from what I understand, but they ask to only use stuff that they officially released. I know they played these 2 back to back live, I own them on Blu-ray, but I can't find them on their youtube channel. That said, most of their Live stuff is really good and worth watching.
So I just realized as I prepared all the meta info that this was 2 songs, and revadac is cadaver backwards...! I didn't see the trees for the forest. If anyone has the story behind this let us know here. I was wondering why the 2nd half video was backwards looking......

@@VGVindaloo I agree, I don't know why people don't just recommend that version instead (or why UM decided to upload the MV without the score underneath in general). But it is what it is, a good chunk of reactors don't really notice it either and it doesn't really detract from the reaction. Prog Dog: The music in the second song/part (Revadac) is the first song/score played backwards note for note as far as the instruments go. The drums are different and the lyrics as well. I'm not positive if the vocal melody also changed or not.
The whole idea of it comes from Shiren reading an artical in a newspaper about a Swiss company, that turns the ashes of the dead in to a diamond . Then he thought about what if someone loved a person so much, they wanted to bring the person back to life. So he wrote a song that could be played in reverse, the drums are not in reverse, and only the last vocal line of Cadaver, which is in German, is reversed in Revadac. And they do play them live one after the other. They had fun with the video as well parts of Cadaver are in Revadac, but reversed and the same the other way. Aslo at the start you see you see a diamond from around Fuki, and at the end, you see the diamond melt.

FUKI is a truly unique vocalist with an insane vibrato, even by Japanese standards. Have you checked out her work with DOLL$BOXX, the GACHARIC SPIN side project? TAKE MY CHANCE is a great sing with a humorous video.
Great reaction. I'm not enough of a musician to be able to tell that this was forwards then backwards, but either way it was both an interest concept and both songs are great. Thanks for reacting to this one.
This is band performance the sheet music backwards. However, it seems that the drums were impossible. The score of the vocal is reversed, but the lyrics are not reversed. However, the meaning of the lyrics is reversed, making it an answer song.

It's a genius level piece of composition. Fuki's use of vibrato at the end of a line is traditional in Japanese singing.

It would have been a lot easier to see the reversal if they didn't have the whole video in a dull gray warehouse.
