Oneway TV YG has the best music in K-pop industry. But why do other KOREANS act stupid like boycotting YG artists especially in Korean university festivals? Other Koreans are too close-minded, I wanted to blast their heads because of their stupidity.
Oneway TV Pre-chorus by Jisoo and Rose is NOT “kpop flavor” as you stated. They are using melodic triplets and Scotch snaps (two syllables) in the vocal phrasing, which have been dominant in reggaeton and American hip hop for some time now. Teddy often times uses Western influences in his music and this is precisely what he is doing here. The triplets favor the Spanish language whereas the Scotch snaps-a Western music staple-are well suited to Germanic languages like English (Shakespeares use of the Iamb in his poetry and plays). However, one of the biggest trends in modern years in American hip hop is the use of the triplet in raps and singing. The Migos are associated with this style even though it predates them in the early 2000s with a number of Memphis groups like 3-6 Mafia. You can hear the Scotch snaps in almost every popular rap or rnb song in American popular music for the past year or two. Check out Cardi B “I like it like that” first verse when she has the line about “hot-ter than-a So-mali fur-coat Fer-rari”. She takes that Scotch snaps vocal pattern into a choppy Migos Dactylic triplet flow (which is not what they do in Kill This Love, but Lisa does use it her rap in Boombayah; BTS also use it a lot) Teddy knows all of this and is cleverly putting these Western elements in all his music by design, since he is from America and knows the music in a way that most Korean producers don’t. That is also why Teddy is much better at creating more authentically sounding Hip hop and dance music hat doesn’t sound as cliche’ and recycled like a lot of kpop. That’s why YG has always been able to stay hip with 2NE1 and BigBang and now Blackpink. Almost every trend I’ve seen in the sound of Kpop is taken directly from Western music btw-haven’t heard one yet that wasn’t, unless South American music is not considered Western. Also, the middle-Eastern and Egyptian sounds that Teddy is so found of dating back to the Dara break-down in “fire” was also most likely through American Hip hip trends that also fell in love with that pallet. I guess there are some possible Bollywood and Indian influences that may sneak into Kpop from time to time, but I wonder if even those elements are more from EDM producers in Europe experimenting and using those sounds and aesthetics than from Bollywood itself. Just sayin’

You should look at the first 3 songs. The way they interacted with the crowd when they talked, adds to their individual charisma. No wonder they are the HOTTEST, most sensational Girl Group in the world today! 👍
Blackpink performed live with the same band in all their North America concerts. I attended their LA concert and they sounded even better live compared to YT Coachella video. 😀

I'm a multi, I stan more than 20 groups, 30 if you include some disbanded and inactive groups but Blackpink is one of the most stable in lives (My top list are mostly YG and SM)

I mean, 1.5hrs isn't even long for a concert. if a group, girl or boy, can't perform at least a 2 hr concert, they probably shouldn't be in the business. IMO.

That's what I was getting at by the 2+ hours. 2 hours in normal standard concert format. Sure, this was accelerated a bit but nothing pros shouldn't be able to handle. BP deserves praise for so much already. This just feels a little overkill, that's all.

YG has its own band called Band Six that follows the artists during their tours. All the songs are arranged for band lives.
Band Six is not owned nor created by YG. YG just gets them because they are excellent and goes well with YG Artists.
