I watched Reservoir Dogs for a first time in 2019, and this song I heard for a first time too. God bless all this people, who creates such incredible things! This song and this movie is awesome! My opinion is from the future, when they did it. Really cool! Big respect!!!!!
I remember this song from late 60's(or early 70's WHENEVER)a friend of the family stayed with us awhile, and she'd play the 45 of this all the time. I was just 9 or 10, but i really liked it. Waaayy before this movie was made.
I did an interview with George Baker (which you can find on my channel now!) in his studio, because next year "Little Green Bag" turns 50. It was the first track he ever wrote and now almost 50 years later it is still popular all around the world. Of course I did ask him about "Reservoir Dogs" as well. Hope you enjoy it!
Rest In Peace , Chris Penn , Lawrence Tierney and the true Reservoir Dog: Edward Bunker. I think it is so amazing Edward Bunker was a hardened criminal , did prison time at San Quentin ( with Danny Trejo and they knew one another in prison ) and cleaned his life up . Reformed truly in Quentin , like Trejo, and went on to writing and acting . Loved Eddie Bunker in this small but great role .
I was 14 in the early summer of 1970. The best that I can remember is that I heard it 2 or 3 times in the course of a couple of weeks, thought it was a great song and wanted to hear more of it , but it was never played again on Top 40 AM which was all I knew then. Always remembered it but never heard it again until Reservoir Dogs came out. Back then AM radio stations rarely repeated the name of the song after it played.
Somehow I can't believe any other song could have fit here. Love this song. I remember when it came out in the early 70's. Hard to believe this movie is almost 20 years old.
I remember when this song came out . . . it was sooooo different from the other stuff on the radio. I HAD to get it. I drove my Mom and Dad crazy playing it!
LONG before Reservoir Dogs (totally "KILLER" flick, btw...and yes, pun intended), heard in some flick in the 80's...and yes, instantly fell in love with it. thx so mucho, StevenMighty, for posting w/ the Steven Wright intro...EXACTLY what i would've done! peace, brotha! :)
--- Something's been bugging me for 25 years about Reservoir Dogs -- there are TWO versions of it and I've been looking for Version One again for all these years. --- We rented the movie when it first came out on tape, and in *THAT* version it shows a scene inside the Jewelry Store when Mr. Blonde (Michael Madson) goes on his killing spree, starting with the young Black Girl behind the counter. *That Version* has disappeared like it never even existed, there's no record of it either, not at IMDB or anywhere. --- When cable's TCM fist aired it -- 'uncut' and commercial-free as they say -- I thought for sure that would include the Jewelry Store scene and made darn sure I wouldn't miss it. Well, I watched it, and guess what, NO Jewelry Scene. And no, I didn't imagine this as there's no way my imagination could come close to inventing the carnage Quentin Tarantino routinely puts up on the big screen. --- Now maybe that scene was subsequently thought of too violent -- it was pretty gory -- and was cut from the master print and all copies. But darn it, if that's so at least mention that somewhere.

Speaking about Lawrence Tierney, "His agent Don Gerler later recounted “a few years back I was still bailing him out of jail. He was 75 years old and still the toughest guy in the bar!"....Funny, but factual.
Mighty Steve,..mighty good dude!! Nice doing. Thanking YOU for being cool and gettin' 'er done daddy!! FYI,..my personalized liscence plate is,.. RYDE ON as per,..well, Bon Scott really, but hey,..lots of GREAT stuff to appreciate, and I appppreciate you. Well done!!
dude, fahgetabout reservoir dogs. I had this song on my ipod back in 1970. think I paid about 1.99 for it on a vinyl 45. good times. great tunes. man I hate when I lose my bag o green...
Chris K actually I think a clockwork orange started that in 1972 in the scene with Alex and the droogs walking down the marina, which actually inspired the reservoir intro
I wish they had a K Billy's super sounds of the 70's radio station for real, that played songs just like the ones in this movie. With Steven Wright (i think that's Steven Wright?) as DJ too!. I wanna go see Big Daddy Bodine's Monster truck the Boewhemeth too!
On this day in 1970 {March 7th} the George Baker Selection performed "Little Green Bag" on late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Tarantino's best. Did he say he was making one more movie and then good bye? He might as well stop now, he's too caught up in special effects and blood spurts. This movie was perfect, balanced.
Supposed to be “Little Green Back” originally. Listen close and you can hear him singing little green back. Can’t remember who messed up with the title, but someone did.
George baker (fake name) is the singer of this song. Comes from holland the netherlands. The second fames song next to the group Golding Earring ? Me loving it....????
HA! I knew you were way 2-Kool to be from 'underneath me'! (as in the U.S.A.) RUclips is such a great avenue for connecting with people from all over. I stumbled across a young lady from Wales who was a Bon Jovi fan,..holy cow,,..now THAT girl can sing. Do you maybe chat and share 'musical insights and flavors' with others? A like minded person is never unwelcome in my world if you follow me. I am a lover of all things musically 'interesting' but am sort of a throw back 2 the '70's & '80's.
Reservoir Dogs ranks as one the best filmmaking debuts EVER!
Actually, I think it was Switchblade Sisters for the filmmaking debut, but once Tarentino got a real budget, then this film was a result.
QT had nothing to do with making Switchblade Sister, it was rereleased in 1996 by his distribution company Rolling Thunder.
So true!!!

Tarantino's movies always seem to have the best music selections. I've never seen any other movies where the music becomes as popular as the movies.
Drive
crimsonxtide50 Snatch; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; RocknRolla.
yeah you can tell he is a record collector :)
@@electroneo5671 Guy Ritchie movies are fucking awesome, but the soundtracks in no way received the cultural status that this movie's did.
Yep you don't need a music composer to have good music in a movie.

My all time favorite opening credits sequence.
Reservoir Dogs is simply Brilliant! and this song is just perfect! So good! :)

Good song, good movie! I often listen it in my car!
Turn to the left, turn to the right. Always Katz. :)
Katz is everywhere!
JonBenait06 to Katz?!))) I didn't understand.
Great dancing-in-the-streets song! Great vocals (with 'nonsense' verse). Was a big hit in 1975., will stir anyone from 9 to 90.
Simply one of the best intros of all time.

Love this song reminds me of my friend Ophelia and myself hangings out at night or should I say sneaking out at night. we were young and crazy.
Tarantino got it so right, on so many levels.
Just this song makes me wanna watch this movie, been listening it all day, too bad im to busy with school and sheit.
Another proof that the audio track is as important as the images. Great scene - one of my favourite.

No one ever acknowledges how routinely copied this slo-mo credit sequence is. Every badass slow-motion walk by a group stem from this.
Actually The Right Stuff has it beat by almost 10 years.
Resevoir Dogs did it much better, it is classic Taratino; dark, funny and kewl
Everyone acknowledges it.
