@chris1vaz No problem at all. Sadly, the device may be totaled if that is the case. Was the device ever water damage? It does sound like a motherboard issue. This is a common issue on the iPod Touchs as well. Part of the motherboard may not be functioning properly, causing the LCD to work, but limited backlight. In those cases, multiple screen changes will not resolve the issue, as it is the motherboard itself causing it. May be wroth having it diagnosed by a local repair shop. Hope that helps!
@bigbadbenable No problem at all. The plastic will be part of the iPad (aluminium side). The touch screen comes out as only the touch screen, nothing else really attached to it (besides adhesive). The iPad 2 is pretty simply. If you are familiar with Apple, then this should not be too difficult for you. Just take it slow and be patient. Good luck!
@aculuca2001 I would suggest checking the touch screen flex cable connection to be sure it is fully in place and checking the flex cable itself for any rips or damage. If all looks good, I would suggest contacting the seller of the part directly.
@bigbadbenable It may be possible to remove with only heat and suction, assuming the you are using a high grade suction cup. Normally prying is required however. Safe open pry tools are great for this as they are softer plastic than the bezel, making damage highly unlikely. The LCD screen is very fragile once fully exposed. Take special care with it. As for the adhesive, it will normally stick to both. Very difficult to get it all to come up as a full strip. Heat would be key for this.
Best thing to do is to try another LCD. If it works than you could have damaged the LCD if the new LCD does not work than it could be an issue with the internal components caused by this predicament.
@chris1vaz Sorry, not sure I understand the current issue. Is it just the wifi that does not seem to work? Or is the LCD screen still not working properly after replacement?
@DePetru44o Nearly all replacement parts and accessories are manufactured in China, however there are very reputable manufactures and ones who push cheap products. Also another thing to keep in mind is the fact that many suppliers are only located in China or Hong Kong, making ETA of a product normally around 1-4 weeks. Of course the final decision is up to you, the customer. You will not be disappointed with RepairsUniverse's products.
@santibanez619 Basically the glass and digitizer are fused together. The digitizer is the ciruitry and sensors that detects touch. The "glass touch screen digitizer" is the part you will need to replace a cracked outer screen. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
@300k20 If it is only the outer glass screen that is cracked, you will need to replace the "touch screen digitizer". If the display (image) has been damaged, this is the LCD screen. Replacement screens for the Rezound are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
@samdukalis That is odd. Possible the LCD screen was damaged or the LCD flex cable was ripped or damaged? As for the power button, this is normally caused by a ripped flex button flex cable. The cable is extremely skinny and can be ripped very easily. I would check this out at the same time.
Double check the connection for the LCD flex cable. Depending on the reason for the replacing the touch screen digitizer could have caused damage to the LCD also.
I see. The magnetic sensor is not located on the skinny power button flex, it is actually part of the back cover. I would suggest checking out ifixit (dot) com for a teardown of the smart cover. It will give you a bit of info on the exact locations and possible ways to resolve such an issue.
Hello there. Great video. I changed the LCD screen because I had dropped it and it had smashed. But now the iPad will not open/close with the smartcover, nor will it acknowledge when I touch the dead centre of the screen or anywhere near it.
@fmzghazi The WiFi antenna cable should not effect the power button flex cable in any way. I would suggest replacing the WiFi flex and then checking the power button flex cable connection to be sure it is fully in place. If you are still having issues, I would suggest contacting our tech support team using the "contact us" form at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
A few questions about replacing the glass and digitiser on the iPad 2: is it possible to get the glass off using just a heat gun and a suction cup? I don't want to use any pry tools I'm case I damage the bezel or any components. How fragile is the LCD once you have it open, will it easily crack ect? The glass is bonded to the iPad with 3m adhesive, when you remove the glass, does this stick to the glass, or the iPad? Ie, will I have to remove any adhesive from the inside of the iPad before I fi
hello.. I replaced the glass and broke the Wi-fi antenna. I did not touch the power cable area. Yet the Ipad works without the power button or volume button and off-course the wifi is not working. If I change the wifi cable, will the power button work? Please also let me know how to change the power cable. Your video is very brief.
I am in the process of replacing my touch screen/digitizer with a custom red colored one.. Do I need to purchase and apply more adhesive when putting the new screen in?
@RepairsUniverse Great, thanks! Also, there is a white plastic surround between the glass and the aluminium on the iPad 2, is this part of the glass/digitiser or the aluminium (it is visible on the outside). I have repaired many iPhones, but I have never done an iPad, so I want to get it right first time, thanks! :)
Have a question, my mom bought her ipad 2 not too long back, and my sister took it out in the rain and ever since then it has had issues. When i turn it on, i have to press down really hard on the screen itself to allow it to let me push any buttons on it, then after about maybe a few second.. i have to press down on it really hard again because it does the same thing, where i can't push anything. Would this be an issue with the Touch screen digitizer?
Hi. I have a HTC Rezound but the screen is cracked. How do I know if the screen needs to be replaced (as in the digitizer) or the LCD itself needs to be replaced
Hi, I replaced my iPad 2 digitizer but during the process I damaged the audio flex cable so I replaced it with a new one too. Everything works expect for the magnetic sensor for smartcover. Is there anyway to fix it???
@DePetru44o VERY rarely are cheap models OEM material. Cheap competitors are normally using inferior materials. This makes the durability of a new screen very low, making it more likely to fail or be damaged in the near future after replacing it. Save yourself some money in the long run and go with a high quality OEM replacement screen. These can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
Hi, I did everything as in the video but after connecting all back the touch doasent work. It turns on but when I touch the screen it doasnt work. What can I do???
Its sounds like the touch screen digitizer is failing. This recognizes your touch. We have the part and tools needed for the repair please talk to us for immediate assistance on our site at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
i was on , after i fix everything. but then the screen not working well, so i thought i connect the lcd screen not right. so i disconnected. and reconnect again. but forgot to turn it off. this time it only a black dark light turn on. nothing else.
@RepairsUniverse Your shop have reasonable price products. But I think they are manufactured in china anyway. So resellers fills their warehouses from china? am i wrong?
if your replacing the screen, you don't have to worry about breaking the cable, its not like your gonna use it again, you don't have to take care of something your replacing.
@DePetru44o It is possible, but always check where the item is shipping from. Check out our current prices at RepairsUniverse (dot) com for a guess free purchase. We ship direct from our warehouse in the mid west of the USA.
Good afternoon, I had the screen out corrupt, bought and put a new, but now the touch does not work properly, only works in the corners, I have to replace anything else? or just put the tape or M3 that already works? Thank you please help me

You can open the device to check for damages and clear debris if any is present.

@samdukalis Display is working correctly though? Could be a few things, but I would first double check the LCD connection.
This sounds like a connection issue. Please double check all connections and verify that there is no damage to the cable or connections.
@DePetru44o Thank you, glad you found the video useful.

Double check all connections and components for damages.
Yes take a look at 0:35 in this video

@RepairsUniverse and if it marked as 100% brand new OEM - it should be really same or it may be fake for price about 60$?
will a new digitizer come with new tape to install to ipad

Btw, I really afraid to buy glass on eBay. Don't you know what's a normal price for it? Are they same quality as original?
If it does not display an image with the old LCD or the new LCD then there could be something bigger wrong with the device.

Nice manual
I am having a real hard time replacing this...
this is not a replacement guide - but rather a removal guide
You and that is how you reinstall an "re"installed" with no instructions for the home button
Is this Keanu Reeves
