Unsure since our current king is related to the duke of edinbourgh i belive he is his uncle since the swedish king´s mother were sister too the duke of edinbourgh

The reason is because protocol only allows for one state visit per reign. So most crowned heads in Europe with the exception of The Netherlands and Belgium have visited already and won't get another visit until there's a new King or Queen.

@@roostersstuff1765 The Swedish king's mother was NOT the sister of Prince Philip. Prince Philip's aunt, his mother's sister, was the second wife of King Gustav Adolf, seen in this video. That made Queen Louise the step grandmother of the current king of Sweden. The current king's biological grandmother was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, and Philip was also descended from Victoria. So, the king of Sweden and Philip are cousins through their descent from Victoria. Both were great-great grandsons of Victoria.

  • @dinasty68

Absolutely! Queen Louis of Sweden, née Battenberg (Mountbatten) was sister of princess Alice of Battenberg, the mother of Phillip Duke of Edimburgh, and her mother was the princess Alice of Hesse-Darmstadt a grand-daugther of Queen Victoria . The first wife of King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden was Margarita of Connaught, a grand-daugther of Queen Victoria.

The Queen was a very modest lady who would visit London on her own, staying at the Hyde Park Hotel. She travelled around by bus, with a card in her handbag, with, written on it in case of accident, I am the Queen of Sweden. Her family said that anyone finding that would take her to a mental hospital.

You don't seem to understand what inbreeding is. If you really want to see inbreeding, look at the family tree of the Spanish Habsburgs. Their royal line didn't end well.

He probably learned from an English tutor as a child. He also would have gotten a lot of practice speaking English being married to two wives from England.

Interesting to see Princess Marie Louise at Covent Garden. Slightly unusual member of the Royal Family. A grand daughter of Queen Victoria, who once in a telegram to her parents described her as very ugly. She left her homosexual German prince husband and for some time was so short of money that she lived in a club for ladies, doing her own cooking on a paraffin stove.
