Ok just kidding around. Me an Joel took our AWD's off pavement to retrace a dual sport ride we did on our Honda XR's. Pretty fun - but not as fun as on the Hondas.
It’s the subject matter I guess. More people with Subaru’s and Mazda’s than XR400R’s :) Looks like the thumbs up > thumbs down at the moment. Kinda funny - not sure what you’d like/dislike in this.
Honestly, if you’re careful a Honda Accord could handle most of this. There aren’t a lot of ‘off road’ places in north Texas so this is what you get out here. Neither of these vehicles is a Jeep class vehicle, but both are still pretty damn capable on the soft stuff.
For which car? I believe both have full time AWD, you cant switch it off in either car. The Subaru also has X-Mode which gives it some additional capabilities off road.
More dislikes than likes, so I guess everyone thinks that those two cars do not belong off road? Why did they make them AWD? Some of us live off road guys.
GaryLordsWayMinistry AWD system in those cars is designed to give you more traction when raining or snowing, it is to make the care safer, not an offroader
That was a fun day. 9k views, congrats.

Fun!
And cost to repair when broken.
You call this off-road? A Hyundai Accent could drive it.

M2W fair enough mate.
What tyre pressure did you drop them too or didn't bother? Glad to see that a cx9 can work harder than on a grassed parking area lol
CX9 did great, as you can see. We didn’t drop tire pressure in either of them.
Was clearance an issue on the cx9?
Is that a permaneng awd or they have like a special off road mode?
