    If you already know the basics but not this model, just skip to 9:30 for everything you need to know. Thanks for this video.

    100$ for oil and filter? You should go on amazon i got the same oil you got for 17$ 5qt and a filter for 6$

    • @HubersRanch
      @HubersRanch  6 лет назад +1

      If we had Amazon in Switzerland I would. Amazon doesn't have a facility here. It only has one in Germany. And when you order from Germany you get screwed with A: Import Taxes into Switzerland and B: Shipping to Switzerland because we are not part of the European Union. I bulk order my Oil filters from ebay but that still runs me then around 10-15$ per oil filter when I include the shipping and import duties. Switzerland is not a DIY friendly nation. You should see how people look at you when you work on your own car in the parking lot, like you are working on a space ship....

    • @HubersRanch

      I ran it with no issues, it just costs more. Some people will say it's not good for older engines, but I ran it for years.

    Never use a Fram Oil Filter. You Tube videos of how bad they are inside.

    Do you think I can use the 3980 filter instead of the 3387 filter on a 2000 blazer 2dr Ls non 4x4 without any problems?

    • @davidarwood6264
      @davidarwood6264 Год назад

      It will cause problems. Walmart put a non 4x4 filter on a friend's 4x4 GMC Sonoma and there was major problems as a result. Maybe there wouldn't have been if he'd kept better check on things. Idk. I would not use it. Oh yeah...there's quite a bit difference in size if remember correctly.

    My old filter wouldn't budge. Had to take off the plastic cover to get more access. Mutilated the filter, but got it off finally. The rest was cake. Thank you!

      On occasion I also had to take the plastic shield off to gain more access. It can be a fight sometimes but glad it worked out 🤠

      Sorry I never had that issue. Only thing I can think of is to make sure the fluid hoses aren't cracked.

    Got a spark plug video??

    • @HubersRanch
      @HubersRanch  4 года назад

      Sorry I do not, but it's pretty straight forward, the only troublesome one is spark plug number 3 as it is partially obscured by the steering shaft. So you either have to move that away or you take two sockets and weld them together, side by side so that one socket is on the spark plug and you actually put your ratchet on the other one to loosen it. And you can reach it through the flap in the wheel well.

    How long has the blazer has synthetic oils run in it? The reason I ask is because it's a detergent oil and the 4.6 is a picky bitch when it comes to her oil so if you haven't used the 5/30 oils with it the entire time is probably got lots of carbon build up inside the motor and if you have not been using the synthetic oil to long then that's what the metal looking material was on the drain plug and you may want to flush the oils out real good meaning change your oil like 3 times in a normal oil change cycle that way you will get that shit out and have less of a chance of it messing shit up that is if it will mess it up because the 4.6 liter is pretty much the old school 350 block with 2 less pistons there tough as nails

    • @HubersRanch
      @HubersRanch  4 года назад

      I personally ran that type of oil for over 10 years and over 70k miles and never had an issue. The trans went before the engine did 🤠
