if it wont start, check under the seat there is a fuse in covered my green plastic cover, replace it and it should start easier. Or you may have a timing chain going bad, get a manual timing chain tenision to tighten the chain to stop the tapping.
with that, i would highly recomend getting a clymers repair manual for this quad. there awesome and give excellent details on how to do this kind of stuff. plus i have no need to disasemble my motor any more cuz now i have to just replace some valves and put the motor back together
Good quality vid man I got a tapping noise I can pull start it doesn't start with starter ill till it warms up. Do I need a new jug and piston or is there a better way
What are the black) circular things on the outer sides of the spark plug on the top the head? Just curious because I bought a used head and one of the two was missing. What's it's purpose; are both needed ? Others feel to chime in. Thanks in advance
jason justice. before you put anything back together make sure there is no old gasket on the mating surface for the jug. It has to be perfectly clean. Do not use anything else on the gaskets like RTV. Only gaskets are required. If your getting coolant in the oil you will have to do the job again my friend....sorry.
when you put it back together did you use anything besides the new gaskets to seal it? i used all new gaskets and im getting coolant in the oil now. help is much apreciated.
I need help! were does you ground wire coming from the battery bolts on too. I have the some atv my positive is hooked up to the starter the negative came off and I can't figure out were it bolts to does it bolt on too the starting coil or the frame help!!

The hose coming out of the head casing next to the spark plug where does that go can find where it goes
it goes into the black box next to motor right behind chain tensioner
ok how do i set the timing. i have a 06 thats out of time i can get in to the head but idk how to adjust.
How do you drain the oil on these.
for some reason my 2003 ltz400 isn't getting coolant to radiator and fan isn't turning on. Any ideas what the problem could
No water in the radiator
Dude your cams should have been facing outwards if it was at tdc on compression stroke. It looked like they were facing inward.
wow!! the carburetor jumped right off of there without any work.

On my ltz the ground wire is bolted from the battery to one of the starter bolts.
nice quad!!!
You got to tell them about the mount bolt . lol
James Jiles I broke mine
YUCK! I'm allergic to four strokes, it gives me good gas mileage, and ride slower.
