There are two categories of characters that make me cringe when I see them in Action movies. The first is children as they will invariably go against grownups orders / run off and create or cause situations to be worse. Or, and I’m not sure if this is worse, equal to, or better than what I’ve already stated; the kids will be smarter or more capable than the adults. The second is animals, usually pets. They invariably either run off so the protagonists have to find them, or they’ll be in some danger so the protagonists will put themselves in danger to save them.
It was one of the biggest weak points of all DCEU (only overpassed by the infamous "Save Martha!"): Superman never would allow that his father would die without to do a thing. He's Superman, period. There was a million ways to save him without to reveal his identity to the rest of the people under the bridge.
I don't see it as a flaw. The scene gives important backstory & character development. He's not Superman here. Not yet. He's still just Clark. And he believed (at the time) he needed to keep his powers secret. And his earth father was right to be concerned for him.

Kevin Costner plays a great role as Jonathan Kent as the greatest dad to protect Clark
I agree with that one girl, Amy Adams is a low talker...i kept screaming speak up!!! Louder!! She talks like that in every movie, so weird lol
