Must admit the reaction of the audience is much lesser than expected, seeing many hands not clapping at all. Guess Berlioz haven't reached Istanbul yet... I guess this is akin to the Chinese proverb "to play the Chinese zither for an ox" (對牛彈琴). Another inspired performance of the BPO with the always inspiring maestro Jansons, giving all his heart and soul, as always. We shall always remember your Art, may you rest in eternal peace. 🙏
Mariss Jansons gets the orchestra to see his view of this very athletic symphony. The players give an athletic performance. Bohm and Ormandy could not get this result. Bravo!
Berlin Philharmonic European Concert 2001 in Istanbul? In my opinion, this is better than same performance with Bavarian radio symphony at the Royal Albert Hall, Proms 2013~
I love Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz and this is great director and Berlin Philharmonic. This building must have a excellent acoustic. Is it an old church or a mosque?
장소는 예전 감옥이나 성당 같습니다. 바이에른방송교항악단.뮌헬필하모닉 이 같이 쓰는공간.연주는 베를린필. 얀손스는 바이에른방송교항악단의 전용홀 신설이 그의 가장 큰 숙원사업이었고 나중에 그걸 이루어냄.그 덕분에 베를린필 지휘자로도 제의가 있었으나 바이에른과의 의리를 지키기 위해서 거절하였음. 단원들을 매우 존중했던 지휘자이면서 음악은 완벽에 가까왔던 이시대 최고의 지휘자. 오른손이 불편해서 지휘봉 없이 지휘하는 영상도 많음.
