Hi Jonathan another great video I purchased my James Cameron from yourself 3 years ago and I love it I added it to my submariner and my rose gold n steel yacht master 😀
Jonathan the helium escape valve works when they’re in the recompression chamber, when there is a no water pressing on the crystal, it’s such a light gas it can seep inside the watch especially when your living in the chamber for weeks at a time.
@@edinburghwatchcompany247 Afraid not but I will be nearby as I have a house 20 miles away. Up for meeting up if your staying in hotel nearby for coffee or stronger ! DM me.
Wonderful presentation and a walk through the Rolex dive watch range - something for everyone. You can’t go wrong with a Sub really, every collection should have one as a truly iconic piece.
the helium escape valve is designed to work inside in a dive chamber durring decompression and when normalizing pressure. not while actually diving in water. it will only activate in that dry chamber
Thank you Jonathan for posting this well presented video. Didn't realize the Kermit has bigger dot dials. Is a very good looking piece. The SD4000 is a very special diver watch. I never seen one in person but I am guessing the bit oversize case but staying at 40mm makes this watch perfect dimensions. The short time on production makes also this watch a very good investment value. I agreed the James Cameron is not for everyday. I currently have one and is massive. I only wear it on short outings. But is a stunning dial. Just beautiful watch. Hey that Daytona looks good on a 8 inch wrist. Again thank you!
Maybe I'm biased but my favourite, and so far only dive watch, is the two tone black Submariner you supplied to me last year. A superb watch that is tucked away at the moment as I'm sporting the blue datejust you also sold to me. Superb video as always and that Daytona is out of this world.
Cermit, not Starbucks, that’s the one! Best of two worlds: slim lugs and ceramic era. And the new moviment 3235 completes the package. Congrats by the excellent work e cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷
Small correction on the function of the Helium Escape Valve. There is no risk of helium entering the watch while underwater. Helium can only enter the watch in a submerged habitat where the atmosphere is either Trimix (Helium, Oxygen, and Nitrogen) or Heliox (Helium and Oxygen). Even if the crown is kept screwed down, helium molecules are so small, they will still penetrate past the seals. (Helium is a single atom molecule: He, where hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen are double atom molecules: H₂, N₂, O₂). When they return to the surface, they need to decompress in a hyperbaric chamber. The decompression period is too short for the helium molecules to leave the case, and that pressure needs to go somewhere. Without the helium escape valve, the weakest point is the crystal, which could get blown from the watch in an explosive decompression.
SuperCase, MaxiDial. NOT ‘MaxiCase.’ Please! Sea-Dweller 116600 is maybe the best Rolex diver in recent years. SuperCase with 20mm bracelet is an unhappy proportion - the 41 is much nicer. And the green bezel is a peach.
His smooth voice and accent just make me want to keep listening and purchase them all!
Thanks for the video love all the divers to be honest, my favourite is the 50th anniversary I think it’s very understated and a stunning piece.
Thanks for getting the wrist shots back, true to word! Great content..

Good to hear from you Derek
There really is nothing like the JC, particularly if you have a decent wrist size. Stunning piece.
Agree
Another top class video Jonathan. Would love to see something similar on the Sky Dweller range in the future. All the best 👍🏻
Hi Thank you. We rarely see a collection of them but will see what we can do.
Thank you so much for adding the wrist shots! You read our comments. 😁 Great presentation as always, thank you!
My pleasure
50 Anniversary Sea Dweller 👌🏻 much more manly than a sub.

I was very fortunate to get a Starbucks from my AD this year. It is an absolute stunner, such a lovely watch. Enjoyed the video!

Although not technically a diver, my favorite is the blue dial Yachtmaster. What a stunner!

The SD 4k is in my collection. It appeared in 2015 and was discontinued in 2017,
What about the Rolex sea dweller 116600 (SD4K)? I know it has been discontinued and only produced for 3 years … but … it was perfect !!!

Fascinating. Thank you
The Rolex Sea Dweller LV 41mm is the best modern sport model you can get

Ha! Ha! Ha! That ref. 116600 Sea Dweller dial is most certainly NOT anything close to "matte-like!" Ha! Ha! Ha!
Love that Starbucks.
You know who to call:)
No diver I ever meet wears Rolex; ever. They don’t do their diving seated behind a desk or working as a hairdresser.
Nice very Nice
This guy must have a 30 inch wrist
Every watch looks tiny on his monster wrist
