  • Sorry. I am not a great big fan of old single grain scotch whiskies. They just don't do it for me...

This is the second bottle of single grain I have ever gotten. The first one I got several years ago out of curiosity since you can get something in the 25-30yr age range for under $90. Most of both bottles were used to make several different homemade blended scotches in 8oz sample bottles. Have had fun doing this and with making smaller batches you can try different ideas. Some of them were fantastic, some were good and a few were just ok. Once the blends are made I put them away for at least a month to let them marry into whatever they are going to become. So far all my blended scotch recipes have been a ratio of 60% several single malts and 40% of one single grain. Cheers

I'm convinced that you experiment more than I do. i just have several infinity bottles and add a dram to whichever one whenever I open a new bottle... Last night, I finished off the last of my Shelter Point infinity, which was superb. I just haven't bought any Shelter Point in a long time to add to and replenish the infinity.

I have not yet warmed up to old single grain scotch whisky... Maybe I haven't tried enough examples.
