Офигеть, яувак из австралии послушал пару песен короля и шута и предложил, что было бы здорово добавить виоланчель и спеть с аркестром! Удивительно, но именно по этому пути и пошла группа! Все таки все мы на этом шарике одинаковые

Unfortunately (or fortunately), most of the Russian old school music is very lyrics-oriented, so it may be hard for a non-russian speaker to understand, especially when it comes to this band, because their songs are literally a bunch of stories told in the form of the songs. This being said, you were pretty much spot on, there was an opera made by them later on (without a second vocalist, and some of the other members were different too), which was already mentioned in the comments below.
their stories have a strong vibe of British traditional black humour we read a lot of in our childhood translated by Samuil Marshak here in Russia
I was 14 years old when they made this album, and it was one of the best and memories of my life

Oh wow, man. It’s very unexpected that you decided to make a reaction to a russian group! This is really awesome!
Some info about "King and Joker" (i found translation "King and Jester" more accurate, but "Joker" sound cool too x) ). Main idea of the group was like... Mixing punk-rock/punk-metal with russian-like tales, theater and little bit horrors (last album "TODD" is *literally* musical metal version of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"). So... I found funny but pretty accurate that you catch some Ghost vibes from King and Joker x)
"Cursed Old House" - this is a song about ghost of an old man that trapped in his own house (villiage peoples was hated him because he was "blind and terribly angry", so they just boarded up the doors and windows when he died:D)
Not much is wrong, the grandfather in the village was bad, they were afraid of him. And when he died, it got even worse.
The villagers treated him badly, and because of this, the spirit of his grandfather was stuck in the house.

the most important thing in K&J as for me is the plot. Every song has it's own really nice one. The music, voices are awesome too but the main thing is the plot. I hope you'll try to discover a couple of text of their songs with at least automatic translator and then you'll get the main idea and the main preasious of their creativity

На будущее - название группы - это имя собственное и оно не переводится на другие языки. Название группы "Король и Шут" должно звучать одинаково на всех языках, это правила русского языка. ведь никто на русском языке не называет группу Pink Floyd - розовые фламинго!
