- Welcome to this week's Vlog from "One man and his boat"....A busy little episode this one! we are Very busy, doing the final shaping of the stainless steel for the pot hauler area.
The main clamp that holds the pot hauler in place, has to be drilled, polished, bolted and welded into place, (Making sure everything is nice and square 1st)
We hope you all enjoy this week's vlog.
All the VERY best.
Hi mate you just reminded me i have to get some duralac forgot about it , well your more skilfull than me i can build a house but my welding is like birdshit bill .My father was a welder but he never taught me which is to my demise my welds work but im glad they invented portable grinders hahaha . Was that stainless you were welding ? do you need a special liner like for aluminium ? anyway a bloody good job on that pot hauler .
Hi buddy.
🤣🤣🤣 never for get the old duralac, it helps loads.😍😁👌.
Yup I was welding the stainless.
Key to welding stainless is low heat, a doo wipe down with acetone before you start and 100% argon gas, the rest takes practice and time.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hate welding stainless, far easier with mild steel, but the effects are not as breathtaking 😁👌
All the best buddy😊
👍 Johno Darwin NT
Cheers big man 🥃
Won't be long now until she's hauling up those pots 💪🤓
Thank you Bob...I really can't wait....it's been far too long now.
Have a great weekend champ, all the best.😉👍
Hey mate, what with the need for all the stainless plates? is is so the pots and gear doesn't damage the boat as well as a bit of structural integrity?
Thanks
I should also add. Beautiful craftsmanship. You are very talented
Hi bud.
Your bang on there.😁👌
Because this is the working area and the most stressed area on the boat when pulling the pots, the more you tie everything in with the stainless, it will be less stressful on the boats Hull and shape when pulling the gear.
Also, Mahogany is a soft wood when it comes to daily creel work. If we didn't protect it, it certainly wouldn't last long.
Plus, the stainless is personally choice as not only does it look good, but it's VERY strong and will last my lifetime with the boat.😁👌
I hope that helps.
All the best 😊
Nice piece of kit Baz. We like shiny. 😆 How deep will you fish and for what?
Hi Rick....hope your all well pal?
Yeah, totally get the shiny thing....I think I'm a reincarnated magpie!😂😂😂😂😂😜😜😜😉👍
We will be fishing for Lobster, brown ( edible crab) and velvet crabs.
We really don't have to fish that deep where I live bud.
From 1.5 fathom to 20 fathom Max....we will be showing you all that in next season's episodes...give you something to look forward to....plus...more boat building ( on another project) I hope.🤞🤞🤞🤞😂😂😂😂😉👍
Have a great weekend pal.
All the VERY best.😉👍
Do you have an old hauler clamp for sale
Hi Craig. No, all the stuff for the Lynsey B were new from Spencer Carter...maybe you can try there for one?
Beautiful work ,so nice to see a job done properly !!
Thank you so much for the kind complement., it's very much appreciated. 😉👍
Can I ask where you got clamp for hauler please
Hi Craig....it was all from Spencer Carter bud. They sell all parts individually if you needs be.😁👍
Ok bud cheers
Are you putting up a wheel house lad also what kilowatts is the motor
No wheelhouse bud...old skool.💪💪💪💪
32kw, beta 43hp, with a 280D PRM.😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat nice job alright
Meticulous, detailed, quality work! Everything polished, sealed & fitted! Lovely to see a job done right!
Thank you bud, very appreciated.
Also thank you for your subscription....it makes all the difference. 😉👍
Enjoy our little channel, it's only going to get better....well I hope.😂😂😂😂
Have a good weekend, all the best
Baz.😉👍
Enjoyed this episode so much, love watching you working. with all the different tools love that big drill and the sander, polisher, didn't know that about the different metals and corrosion, realy interesting, away to watch it again, shes realy looking grwat
Thank you So much Anne.
Yeah, the metal thing is very interesting. The whole metal corrosion thing is actually speeded up in a saltwater environment....so that's why I need to do my best for the Lynsey B, straight off the bat.😉👍
Glad you enjoyed the episode, especially now that she's starting to take shape.😁😁😁😁
Hope you had a good weekend.
All the best.😉👍
If hat 1 inch lip at the workshop door is steel, why not just cut two bits out for the bogie castors and weld them back in once she's out?
I bet the bolt at the far end of the pot hauler mount was a right faff getting the nut on the back (unless you put a captive nut on prior to welding?
Thought about that bud, going to have to butter my brother in law up a month before we move her, for that!....but it's defo a better way to go, less movement from the cradle and the boat.😉👍
Great vid.
Thank you Very much Darius.
I take it your have a wee binge watch.😁👌
Enjoy.😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat it’s great to see what actually happens on the boats. I live in dunbar and often wondered. It’s really great to see.
That's brilliant mate.
Glad your enjoying the vlogs 😉👍
well done!
Thank you Terry bud....making small progress all the time....looking forward to launch day.😂😂😂😉👍
Keep up the great work bud, have a great weekend, all the best.😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat we got a Mussel Ridge getting wet soon!
I'll keep my eye out for that one bud.😉👍
Great craftsmanship Barry. Shes coming on well
Thank Sir, much appreciated.
If the jobs not worth doing well, then you shouldn't do it!....that's what I try to base my builds on bud.😉👍
Hope you have a great weekend, all the best.😉👍
Fantastic job with that stainless there Barry even polished it, super yacht finish mate brilliant.
Thank you Mike, much appreciated pal. It's not quite a " full" mirror finish, by as close as for a work boat.😂😂😂😂😂
I hope you and the family are well bud?😉👍
@@onemanandhisboat all ok thanks Barry, the Brenda C is coming out of the water for a bit of a sort out Monday, I will try and get a bit of video to post👍👍👍👍🌊🙈🐟
Ooooooh! I'll look forward to that!....however it is hard to capture footage, and do some work at the same time, but I'm sure a man of your calibre, can do both.😜🤘
All the best buddy.😁👍
