    The ref didnt call the Lager penalty but the lineman did.The striker dived and bought it. It was Amouroso at the Stadio Dell Alpi in 2002 all over again.Was totally not a pen

    Top job. Agree, Russell, the board are only interested in being better than Rangers. That gets them £30 million from the Champions League. They're not going to spend half their cash reserves to maybe get a round further (as they will see it).

    I think Hart's starting position on his line was too far to his right.He doesnt need to be stood right next to his right hand post. If his starting position is 1 step to his left then he makes the save.

      Agree. It was a double error and undid all our great work in the first half. Feyenoord didn't deserve a half time lead but the soft goal totally lifts the pressure off them at half time.Pity

      Yup. He also didnt move his feet quick enough. A decent keeper should control that pass back with his feet.
      I put it down as a howler, it was terrible goalkeeping.

    I thought we played okay, and that free kick was completely sold to the ref, who seemed a keen buyer of anything Feyenoord were selling. Very unlucky and Lager's two yellows were soft but resultant from his lack of pace. Again unlucky to lose Phillips last week. Feyenoord weren't that impressive to me and a lot more defensive than I expected. ...and how can anyone blame the board when we have 7 CBs on our list and 4 of them are out injured? We were right in that game until the send off.

    • @davidkelly499
      @davidkelly499 9 месяцев назад

      The free kick was a free kick. The penalty was a penalty. Both of Lagerbielkes bookings were bookings and Holms red was as stick on a red as you can get.
      Feyenoord had a good goal chopped off when the boy was onside.
      To even suggest the ref was more to blame than the board is wild.
      Why didnt we upgrade on Hart, Taylor, Maeda or Kyogo? (Just to start). Why was Palma only signed with a few days left in the window? Why didnt we have any plan to replace Starfelt and instead take a player that his agent chucked us? We were never doing anything in europe with the players at Rodgers disposal. But we also dont even look like being half decent to watch or forward thinking this season.

    Been stewing on this result all day, why do we keep buying season tickets, 3 new strips a season, extra money for CL games….. “we don’t want the club to fall behind in any revenue that might affect the team” fuck the board stop filling these bastards pockets with money all they do is let us down and we eat it up and ask for more every year

    Bhoys done alright the night but Taylor again for me is another man down apart from one good pass inside to hatate he just keeps giving the ball away an it’s every game 🤦‍♂️ Lager was alright till he closelined the guy 🤣 hatate looked off it (not upto speed) so did calmac (played way too much) mattybhoy was good. Daizen was good an palma looks promising. Odin showed his age a feel but looked alright up till that. Iwata done a job for us an likely broke a guys foot with a good challenge. Oh did alright in the circumstances.
    The first goal was on joe hart an calmac sleeping not realising he had 2 feyernoord players next to him in the block in our wall 🤦‍♂️ Joes positioning an organisation of his wall humped us but joe done alright tonight saved a pen 🤩 been good recently.
    I’m not disheartened our board never spent big because they knew they might have to settle out of court if the case looks lost an for me that’s crystal clear after the news today an our recent window. The players we have tho an especially the ones coming back from injury will improve us.
    Mon the hoops 💚

      Taylor isnt good enough but he wasnt near our worst performer. Lagerbielke is terrible, there isnt one area of the game where he looks capable. McGregor, Hatate and Kyogo were all very poor. Hatate isnt fit right enough but the other two are two of out key men and didnt turn up

    • @chrisd3211
      @chrisd3211 9 месяцев назад

      Taylor gave the ball away more than anyone else an couldn’t defend 🤦‍♂️almost gave a penalty away defending like a rangers player. Lager was doing alright bar one loose touch up until the sending off but realistically he’s our what 3rd or 4th choice so he will do a job domestically he ain’t the worst defender I’ve seen but definitely is raw

    • @davidkelly499
      @davidkelly499 9 месяцев назад

      @@chrisd3211 McGregor gave the ball away more than anyone. Lagerbielke actually gave away a penalty and was also sent off, he didnt have one bad touch he was awful all game long with Jonstone having to stay back to cover him he was that bad. He cost the same as Taylor did and is our third most expensive centre half.
      Some people are just blinded by their bias and cant help but blame their favourite player to blame. Taylor isnt good enough and didnt play well, but he wasnt close to our worst player and wasnt the reason that we lost.

    • @chrisd3211
      @chrisd3211 9 месяцев назад

      When we had 11 men on the park Taylor was giving the ball away left an right maybe if he didn’t lager wouldn’t have been put under so much pressure. The blinded by yer favourite player nonsense sounds like you way Taylor bud 🤦‍♂️ lager ain’t my favourite player ffs I’m just making a point that there is a player there maybe not a starter in CL but domestically could easy fill in for us. I ain’t jumping the gun an rushing to judge these new boys but for me Taylor has been consistently bad all season an again last night there is no defending him silly

    Outplayed and the pressure told. Scales and Lagers passing out was shite. Our midfield was shutdown.
    Hatate and MacGregor were off the pace. Predictable.

    • @Lupi33z
      @Lupi33z 9 месяцев назад

      and given Hatate and CalMac didn't have good games, are we really going to get better centre midfielders than them to the club? Obviously no. They're as good a player as would sign for Celtic and no amount of money, unless its Saudi levels of money is going to make a difference.

  • @davidkelly499
    @davidkelly499 9 месяцев назад +1

    Poor. Dunno what else to say about that.
    Poor from so many tonight. We looked lost in posession (again). I cant work out our style, we kind of press but dont commit. We try to keep posession but cant, when we do manage to do so its all very slow and predictable.
    The fiest goal is a shocker from Hart, doesnt move his feet and then pushes the ball in to the net. Regardless of the wall, it was a very poor free kick which a half decent keeper saves with ease.
    The defence is what it is. Scales has stepped up, he could be a useful player with CCV beside him. Even if we had Welsh tonight we'd have been much better off.
    Not based on tonight alone but Lagerbielke is awful. He doesnt have a single area that he looks good in, poor on the ball, poor in the air, weak, easy to run off, one of the slowest footballers you'll see in the modern game. He has nothing to him. Johnstone did what Id expect, solid but not exceptional. Taylor wasnt poor tonight, isnt good enough but he wasnt one of the poorer players.
    Hatate isnt fit and was like a man down, we had to risk it because the other options are far off this level (I leave Bernardo out of that). McGregor had a shocker, his use of the ball was shocking for a player with his ability. You just cant afford that at this level.
    O'Reily was really good, kept going at it and looked good on the ball.
    Kyogo was an empty shirt, we could have started without him and you wouldnt notice. For all the 'Best since Larrsson' chat (not exclusive to this channel) he has flopped at this level, thats 7 games with no goals and no assists. As a comparison GG started one game and scored one goal.
    Maeda tried but at this level you need more than effort.
    Palma had a rough night, wont write him off after one start in an away champions league game where almost all of the players around him played below par.
    Holm is stupid with a crazy challenge, again a young lad that I wont just write off because of one moment of stupidity but the game was beyond us anyway.
    We were a bit lucky that their third goal wasnt given, looked very clearly onside. Penalty was a penalty and both reds were deserved.
    Thats a bang average Feyenoord side, I cant see them doing much in the rest of the group aside from the return game against us. A real possibility that we end the group on no points but if we can get some kind of plan third place isnt quite fantasy land yet.
    Add CCV in for Lagerbielke and the team improves by a good bit. Hatate fit and sharp and it improves further. But beyond that, there are some glaring failings in the squad.
    To win champions league games you need a lot of things but two that are essential are a kepper that saves everything he should save and maybe the odd big save on top of that.
    You also need a top striker, which Kyogo isnt. In the domestic game we wont see much better than him but he just doesnt have enough about him at the top level. No shame in that and Im not saying he is a poor player, but if the club has ambition of any kind we will be spending big on a striker in January (we wont).
    Im not laying the blame of tonight at the feet or Hart and Kyogo, but those are the two areas that win you games at the top level. The margin for error is so small. Weve seen it before, how many times do we win european games without at least a good striker ot a good keeper?
    The derby win bought us, the team and rodgers time. But we need to start showing some kind of plan pretty soon. I wrote europe off weeks ago, but the season could potententially become a real slog if we dont start to find a couple of new gears.
