    Please take your dog that is scooting its behind on the carpets or the ground to the vet to have her/his anal glands checked. Usually the vet tech/nurse can do that quickly and for a very small fee, not the cost of a doctor's check. My vet's nurse charges $15.00 for the check and aspiration.

    Some of these dogs are being abused. The golden retriever with its head against the wall is afraid. Other dogs are afraid of their owner

    • @xBloodxFangx
      @xBloodxFangx 9 месяцев назад +3

      It did something wrong and its been proven that dogs try to manipulate our reactions so they dont get in trouble. Golden is just fine it probably learned to do that so the owner goes from punishment to spoiling

    Dog sedated to prevent him from being a dog (anxiety??) is not amusing.

    • @funnatopia704
      @funnatopia704 9 месяцев назад +3

      Bro imagine thinking you know more about a dog you saw in a short clip than the owner whose had them presumably for years.
      That dog could have an anxiety issue, and the sedation could be recommended by a vet. My dog had severe anxiety and took meds for it, and I abusive for that?

      Excellent point and fair!! We have one who shivers and won’t relax with loud noises like thunder, gun shots (hunting season is the most common time this might happen where we live), etc.
      It’s heartbreaking and she comes to me for comfort and I reassure her the best I can but it only goes so far. It’s not hard to understand when it hits a certain threshold and a vet is consulted this is a wonderful TEMPORARY and only AS NEEDED (emphasis for the ones making too many damn assumptions not you). As a pharmacist and just common knowledge at this point I would think, these sedative type medications are highly controlled and won’t be prescribed by vet or filled by a pharmacy more than is safe and is meant to be used only for situations where the anxiety is affecting their ability to function without hiding, shivering, cowering, whining, etc (whatever the symptoms may be). Not an excited or whiny instance with no context whatsoever.
      That’s what irritates me, there are safeguards to prevent abuse of the medication (& diversion to others (humans)) and non-addictive, less sedative options if necessary or desired.
      While I do agree medications can be too quickly considered before other options, that’s not for anyone but the patient (in this case the pet owner making the decision) along with the physician and no one owes anyone the justification and reasons they made the choice. Even as a pharmacist I don’t think medications, especially long-term or more potentially risky medications, should necessarily be the best option IF there is a reasonable alternative that hasn’t been considered or tried assuring the patient is truly committed and willing to try it. Simply because no medication is completely without risk and can (& does) have countless effects that can get more complicated to distinguish the more medications and other complicated variables I won’t bother with as this is too long already.
      My personal choice is to consider carefully the need and issues known to be likely (easier for me than virtually anyone else, even physicians have quite limited knowledge on medications, that’s our area, they diagnose and that’s where we have similar issues). However, I don’t make judgments about what others may be prescribed outside of obvious issues already discussed, only that it’s as safe and they are informed on key aspects. So it bugs me to hear anyone, especially other pharmacy staff, do this and I appreciate others like you who point out what should be obvious to anyone but is far too common and that’s assuming and accusing people with little to no reason at all.

      @funnatopia704 yes, but there's this thing called social media where people will do ANYTHING even harm others/animals for likes, attention, fame and a paycheck. We really don't know what is going on at all. So no things shouldn't be assumed, but why film certain things and put them online?

    Shame on that woman hitting a puppy in the face. You NEVER hit a dog!

    • @kevinjohnson4288
      @kevinjohnson4288 9 месяцев назад +12

      Are you talking about the woman going over the baby gate? Those light ineffective taps she was using hardly qualify as hitting the dog, the dog didn't even react. Yes hitting a dog is wrong but that dog didn't even notice what she was doing.

    • @tina3039

      Never say never hit a dog. Had a stray dog attack me and son as we walked down sidewalk and you better believe i hit that dog to get him off my toddler.

    • @funnatopia704
      @funnatopia704 9 месяцев назад +6

      Looks like someone doesn’t know what correctional taps are.
      You don’t hit dogs, but you also gotta realize that dogs are a lot different than humans. Some things require a tap to the snout, and its a lot more gentle then what most mom dogs do anyway.

    • @PhillyDonna
      @PhillyDonna 8 месяцев назад +1

      She didn't hit the puppy. She tapped the pants the puppy was pulling. You're starting shit for nothing. Stop being dramatic and enjoy the sweetness of these pets.

    • @JudithRansom-t5c
      @JudithRansom-t5c 8 месяцев назад +3

      Why thank you everyone for pointing out I didn’t see what I saw. A dogs mouth is extremely sensitive. Even a tap to the mouth is painful. Just because the pup didn’t respond correctly doesn’t make it right. And don’t be so literal. Of course if a dog is attacking your child hit away. Personally I carry a stun stick when I’m out. Just the sound will back up all but the most aggressive dogs and I’ve never had to actually stun a dog with it. I’ve been breeding dogs for over 14 years so I have extensive training in all phases of teaching a pet. Positive reinforcement always works better than negative reinforcement. You should try it.
