This is exactly the reason. Puerto Rico is a haven for Americans when it comes to taxes. Especially for crypto, it's not taxed there.
That's the reason why all these rich people are leaving. It's almost like it's better to have low taxes and get some revenue, than raise them absurdly high and get no revenue.... Also when those rich people leave, so do their jobs and all the tax revenue their employees pay, and there's a fuck ton of people who are now jobless and can't pay their mortgage. Good places in Florida are West Palm Beach, Clear Water, Naples, Billionaire Bunker in Miami, Sarasota, Key Largo, and Sands Key. In Sands Key, the water is just like the Bahamas crystal clear and blue.
All these places are enjoyable in the middle of the winter. I am from Chicago and happy I moved out.

Yeah I get that. I’m Puerto Rican and I live in Puerto Rico and Im fortunate enough to be in a family of wealth and have really been great. But that doesn’t mean middle class people are going to enjoy themselves here, Puerto Rico is more of a place to visit for a week or two.

As as Puerto Rican born and raised in the island, it is extremely unfair how I had to move to the states and leave my family behind because the cost of living is so expensive and the pay wages are so low. While he's moving there because he will be making more money and paying less in taxes.

This is causing the housing market and the overall cost of living to go up drastically. Causing it where a lot of Puerto Rican’s can’t afford to live there which is forcing them to leave their land and move to the states. This happened to hawai when we turned it from a territory into a state. A ton of rich Americans moved there causing the overall cost of living and the housing market to go up dramatically. A really big amount of Hawaiians had to leave hawai and move to the states due to the fact they can’t afford to live in their own land anymore. If Puerto Rico ever becomes a state and more rich Americans come in which is a high possibility many more Puerto Rican’s will be forced to move into other states due to the cost of living.

But the con part honestly, the public services are awful (except the subway), so have a good insurance for the private hospital. That’s actually cheap compared to USA. And for privates schools we have the best private education in the region.
You need a car here it’s not a luxury it’s a need. A 4x4 if possible. Because we don’t have 4 seasons we have 2 “stations” the dry and wet. So as a tropical jungle environment. We have rains from may to December. But mostly in the capital. A lot of people here speaks multiple languages and our Spanish is pretty different and we put some Spanglish on it. Also French.
Culturally, you can actually call a black person “Hey black person” and he will reply normally. Yeah we are 80% mixed so you can call the Chinese, Chinese, the black black and the white white. And the fat fat and so...
We call people by obvious adjectives. It’s silly but that’s our thing.
And yeah people think we are rude because we don’t take things too seriously until a foreigner critiques our beautiful country.

If you live in the mountains, you won't get flooded, but electricity will come slower, or risk getting flooded but receiving electricity faster. It depends on the place you'll live, but it doesn't mean floods are common like in Texas. It's really nice here, we have a distinct culture, and we have a lot of big stuff over here, like the world's biggest JCPenny, in Plaza las Americas!
