Its funny how one day, your home sick, and hear a song; in my case I was flipping channels and came across a movie called, the borrowers. And then a song in the movie is played and the voice of the singer is one you instantly recognize. But now the movie is not important anymore but the search for the song is. I searched quickly through IMDb for the sound track; knowing full well it was Zooey singing, but couldn't remember her group or band name, but only came up with some other movie score that didn't make sense. Now a bit confused and frustrated, but determined to find it. And then another quick search and crossed reference and then find, She & Him (now I remembered), and then I found it associated with the Borrowers and ...there it was, Brand New Shoes, and then Zooey's delightful face singing this whimsical song...and what a enigmatic charmer she is. I love her style; simple lyrics by beguiling but innocent sweet faced girl...always pleasant and mesmerizing to listen to; charming and peaceful, but tinged with a bit of sadness and long forgotten melancholy. A simple girl with seemingly complex emotional character. Very intriguing.
