Your channel is special to me. I don't really like react channels usually. I'm not looking for validation that the thing is cool. I like what I like. What you do that I really like is you help me recognize the *nuances* that make the stuff I like more special. You explain it in ways I can't because I'm an uneducated listener. The coolest thing about this band is how they write and record these songs in pieces. Their guitarist actually produced and recorded this album. The drummer records with a Roland V-Drum kit all with high end drum samples, and the bass playing is all programmed midi tracks. They show what is possible without a big studio, and without even all being present in the same studio. They write their parts and email them back in forth. Stevic is the guitarist/producer, and he's the big visionary of the band, with the insane skill in all these wacky genres they can play. They are all huge Mr. Bungle fans.

A lot of the tone or low tunings come from the line 6 gear they use, the shuriken variax guitars allow you to change tunings, guitar models and with the models, different pickups with a turn of a knob or using your pick up toggle, the line 6 pedals also store your guitar tunings in the pedals, so instead of flicking the knobs the pedal does it all, the cool thing about the tunings is your guitar stays tuned to E standard, but it can be dropped I think as low as G without touching the tuning pegs, also has acoustic guitar models, uke, banjo and sitar built in the tech, really cool guitars

As others have mentioned TFN and Jinjer toured together and became friends, thus the invite from Kin Etik to Tatiana to collab. The fact that Tatiana gave a definite yes without hearing a single note of the song or having any idea what it was about says something about their mutual respect. To me their voices complement one another so beautifully.

Stevic (the guitarist) is an absolute genius. Not only does he have his own signature design guitar and pedal set up that can change tunings mid song, but he also engineers and produces the albums and used to be a lecturer. Not exactly what he and the band are doing now. They now only have 3/5 members, which is an absolute shame, but very grateful for the work they have done nonetheless. I think you'd really enjoy chatting with Stevic about how he produces TFN albums. I'm 90% sure that the horns in this track were programmed in by midi. The drums are all recorded on Roland electronic kits to save on cost as well.

Dig more into Twelve Foot Ninja if you really like "fresh and different" stuff in metal world because, and for sure, you will not find nothing like TFN around.
They are brilliant and corageous to do music their own way and the result are fenomenal, even more, to music experts because all the twists and genre changes.
If you want to dig a lil bit more to this band, start to check out (and do a reaction to it maybe?) the track One Hand Killing. Genious stuff.
A suggestion, listen the music first without seeing the video and then, yes, see all together. Why? Because all their videos are hillarious and can distract your ability to analise well. You will know what i'm trying to say. I think they are way much underated because of the goofy videos but, by other hand, without that videos, they were not complete as a whole. Love TFN and hoping that they can reach more, without losing their unique identity.

Hey Geebz, what about the Danish band Mnemic? It would be great to react to "Jack Vegas", a powerful Song indeed!

Mnemic was one of the most revolutionary bands in the genre in the earlier 2000's, the perfect hybrid of metal and futuristic vibes.

@@Xenfold big agree. You likely already know, but some members were in scarve. I slightly prefer them more. But mnemic is absolutely amazing. Up there with sybreed for me.

@@Loganopterix Scarve was awesome too, especially that track they did with Thordendal from Meshuggah. Plus, Dirk is the man.

This makes me sad.... The vocalist, Kin(Nik) is leaving the band. They're apparently doing one last album with him, it'll be acoustic.
They've released one song for it so far, it's called Everywhere I Look.

The coolest part about this band is the fact the guitarist uses a "modeling" guitar so he can change his tuning on the fly and keep the strings in a standard e tension. So all the cool drop tunings and acoustic guitar stuff can be played on one electric guitar. I believe it's called the line 6 shuriken.

Once I "discovered" 12 Foot Ninja five years ago, I haven't turned back. It's an underrated song, but check out "Oxygen," similar to "one hand killing," it exemplifies their talent & sound. If you want to mix it up, super-talented female drummer Meytal does an awesome drum cover of "Oxygen." Might be fun to isolate the drums (any artist) in a reaction video? Certainly, your area of expertise!

They're like Djentcore plus some Faith No More and Mr. Bungle...not to mention the guy even sounds like Mike Patton...but all of that in a good way! 😎
