Excellent review, and beautiful trails. Spain is a beautiful country. I was looking seriously at Kona, Giant and Orbea. This and several other reviews I watched on the Occam made the choice easy for me and I went with the H30. I am thoroughly impressed with Orbea from a quality and design perspective, as well as their pricing. Those things just clinched it in the end. I've never had more fun on the trails!!
i've watched a few reviews before i made up my mind to purchase this fine machine. but THIS review is the one that solidified my belief that i made the right choice. well done!
I just demo'd this today! I agree, it is really composed on the descents. It also climbs well. The bike I normally ride is an Ibis Ripley. I wonder if you had a chance to compare it to a Ripley? In my opinion, I felt the Occam is more Stable, but think the Ripley pedals better overall.
I just bought the H20 and I wasn't feeling the tire selection. For SoCal I prefer the minion dhf in the front. The stock tire selection is of great quality but I didn't feel in control. Coming from a pike fork, I couldn't get a grasp of setting up the Fox 34 for a 200 lbs rider.
@@MrAlpontino I think the H30 is a great bike, and actually find it to be the most "good for anything" bike out there, specially at that price. If you want an all rounder, I think nothing beats the h30, with the Ibis Ripley and Polygon t8 in a close second and 3rd (for the price). I don't find it heavy at all, and for flow trails and the occasional enduro Saturday is the perfect bike. Most people are riding over biked (and thus having less fun). It also has good pieces (like the derailleur) mixed with not so good, but in areas where you want to use and upgrade later anyhow (cassette and brakes, looking at you). All in all, couldn't be happier. If you think you are going to ride enduro more than once a week would recommend going for the 150mm upfront (with Orbea offers). Apart form that, it really is a the best no brainer all rounder. As Pinkbike said (accurately), its the most trail bike , trail bike.
@@Bimmerboy353 Hi, I've just ordered the M10 through Orbea. Have you experienced any problems thus far? I.E breaking from the rear suspension as I've seen a couple of YT vids popping up showing this issue?
@@Sammy1970 Congratulations my friend, you just made one of the best choices in you're life. The H10 is such a good bike for the pricepoint. Problems? Absolutely none, and trust me I ride my H20 hard. The bike is absolutely amazing, just got done going tubeless and I can't be happier. Suspensions working like a charm. You shouldn't worry, Orbea is a legitimate company and i'm 100% sure if u'll encounter any problem they will solve it for you, for free.
@@Bimmerboy353 That's great to hear, thanks for putting my mind at rest! Can't wait until February even more now knowing I've made the right decision on a new bike. Thanks for the reply pal👍🏽
I want a double suspension bike that feels comfortable to ride on long distance travels (40kms +). Would this Occam 2020 fit that description, or I would be better served with the Orbea Occam TR from previous years? Thanks.
Around the 7 minute mark when trying to show off the different bike colors the video is from the wrong direction. Video is being shot into the sun so the shady side of the bike is shown making it hard to see the colors.

Nice review and very nice place! Any info about running a coil shock on Occam?
Just bought a new H30, for the price (and regardless of price, it rocks! Great value and I can upgrade to a beast later! Fox 36 I’m looking at you!
Hi Alberto. Do you find the H30 too heavy? Do you think it's a good allrounder? I'm coming from a Epic and looking for something more confortable.

By far the best review of this bike I've seen. Well done.
Really like this. Checking out the m30.
Do you suggest putting the fox36 150mm?
Carbon size M without shock weights 2.3kg. Do you know how much the aluminium version weighs? Would love to know!

Can you please tell me where exactly to find that awesome trail? :)
Thanks, I ordered the Orbea Occam H20 (alu) version :)
I like dogs and cats I have it and love it
@@moncier77 Cool! Yea, I've had it for some days now. It's absolute fantastic. For the price you can't go wrong.

Thanks! Excellent, comprehensive review 👍🏻
Occam or Jeffsey?
Can i hit yump, will it survive like 4m drop,
Will you review de 2020 giant stance? I would like to see if it can perform at that low pricepoint.
Cheers
Is the H20 worth the extra over the H30?
Not if you plan on making tons of upgrades.
You said that there are ISCG tabs, but all info I can find on this bike says otherwise. Can anyone confirm if it has them?
The aluminium version does not have iscg tabs. Major bummer
Sick bike
What size is your Occam in? Because I hesitate between M and L I am 1m70 but I am only 15 years old so I can still grow.
Take L
That's a bike I really really want to try!!

Depends, which style you are riding? For road / gravel you definitely don't need 140/140mm travel.
Bike has no pedals but you ride it?
Magic.
Looks like a META with one more cross ridge
Arguably a good thing all around - if a two-bike quiver was what I needed, it would be one of these, and the Commencal for the big days.

Looks like a tall bike.
It does, but the bottom bracket is low like the meta TR
