My point was, Sakurai's choice in bringing Greninja to Smash heightened its popularity,(knowing most ideas would be mutual with the fans) plus its own creators favored it over the others. It has cool abilities, plus its design is really interesting. Its style favored more to previous Smash fighters. This was chosen before X and Y were released. As said in the video, I am disappointed that all the starters didn't get the same treatment. It's just unfortunate to me. Obviously, they can't add every single pokemon but what I would like is for the trio to be on an equal ground. I hate no Pokemon in this list.

This is a franchise that has, time and time again, used inspirations to their fullest. So the fact that Alolan Dugtrio is so...underwhelming makes it all the worse when you know about the Pele's hair thing. If memory serves, it's about these bits of metal or whatever that wash up or form on the beach, right? And they're said to be Pele's (a Goddess of fire or volcanoes...I can't remember) hair, so it should have been pulled off better. I'm disappointed that the inspiration was wasted, not because they gave it hair.

We have Fennekin, good o'l Fire Fox, Braixen, the young witch exploring her powers (and even magical-girl-like), and then Delphox, the more serious, mature and old(er) witch casting spells and such. Only if it had a better moveset... :(
I _love_ how when Delphox and Braixen do certain moves, they whip out their magic wands and twirl them back into their tails when the attack is over. It's such a cool little detail that makes Gen 6 battle animation so interesting compared to past gens.
in no particular order: 1) Castform: For the same reasons listed in the video, but add onto that the fact that it doesn't get a Sandstorm form 2)Delcatty: Oh Delcatty, I've tried so hard to make you work but alas nothing. 3) Unown: Same reason as listed in the video 4) Klinklang: I actually dig its design and have a blast using it in battle, but its pitiful movepool really hampers its potential 5) Raichu-You're the evolution of the mascot Pokemon, why are you so ...meh?

+Kawaii Mew Pikachu's popularity and mascot status does take away the potential of what Raichu could be. I personally think Raichu deserves a mega evolution instead of being Pikachu's "Rival". I would think if Raichu had a mega evolution it's design would look incredible and unique and of course the boost in stats and new ability to make it viable in competitive battling.

+Kawaii Mew Yeah I agree I think Raichu looks both Cool, and cute and I don't adore competetive like some people so in some of my Pokemon playthroughs I use mons that are either les popular for their stats (ie Togepi in Johto who finished off whitney for me on my first playthrough of the game) but not necessarily terible, or get overshadowed by other mons like Raichu who I like using in all my Kanto playthroughs because I'm guaranteed a thunder stone before the end of the game.

Grim_ creaper22 They probably did both of those because Charizard was extremely popular at that point. Greninja was chosen to be in the game before it was even revealed to the public.
Also, there should totally be an "evolution" for Unown. It should be only obtainable if you have caught every single type of Unown, would look like either a swirling swarm of Unown (a la Spiritomb) or some sort of giant figure made out of Unowns, and legendary-level stats. It could still have only Hidden Power as a move, but its unique ability "Unlimited Power" would make it so that Hidden Power is always super effective against all opponents that have a weakness. (It's not that broken, since Hidden Power is only a 60 base power move).

About Unown... I mean... Sure they were powerful in the 3rd movie, but then again... There were probably 30+ of them doing their "thing" at the same time. If we were able to use 30 Unown at once in the game, I'm sure they would be pretty powerful. :P
Dragon types like druddigon and altaria get buried by the other dragons because game freak made 90% of dragon types pseudo or Legendary pokemon, making normal dragons underwhelming. Its sad because druddigon is one of my favorite Pokemon.

Goodra is actually pretty good. Yes, it's slow but it can tank a special attack with no investment at all. That's just crazy. And with it's ability gooey, it usually outspeeds other Pokemon after the first hit. Max out HP and Def and throw some Leftovers on it and you got one annoying pokemon to deal with.
I LOVE Delphox. I think it's one of the best-designed and most fun to use Pokemon ever. And I absolutely like its design more than any of the alternative fan designs shown in the video.
I actually like all the Kalos starters. Delphox I find to be a really cool design. I do agree that they could've done more with it, but I think it looks fine. And I was also kind of thinking Rhyperior, Klinklang and Sunflora were going to be on this list, given the thumbnail. About them, Rhyperior's design doesn't really look good to me. But Sunflora I like and Klinklang to me is freaking adorable.

Dragonite was based of the legend of serpents who lived in rivers and caves. They would wish with all their might to one day become a dragon. If they could survive 1,000 years, a beautiful jewel would fall from the sky. If the serpent caught this jewel, it got to be a true dragon for the rest of its life. That explains its evolution line. Dratini is the serpent wishing to be a dragon, who, after a long time, evolves into Dragonair, which has the legendary jewel on its chest and tail. Then, just like the legend, it evolves into a noble dragon, the original dragon, Dragonite.

Because it's like, have a chicken. Oh yeah, have a bigger chicken. Then, the only people crazy enough to put up with all the chicken-ness must actually like chickens, and... they get this crazy weird bird-man thing. So... everyone's disappointed. Also, I happen to have a special hatred of Torchic on top of this, for the same reason most people hate Zubat. In the first Pokémon game I played, the weakest Pokémon ever was Torchic. The one you had to grind through hundreds of and wouldn't stop seeing no matter how powerful your team got, no matter if you're taking down Legendaries, "Sure let's just toss in another lvl 2 Torchic, they won't notice..." That is my ire with Torchic and its evolutions, and while Blaziken is great, and I am certainly biased, even looking back later, I still don't really like them. And frankly, I find the designs boring and silly. The fire chicken thing was "meh" for me. It just didn't seem cool. None of the gen 3 starters seemed that cool to me, honestly. But, whatever.
I have to say: slurpuff. Swirlix is one of my favorite pokemon of all time. It's just adorable with its pink puffiness, tiny little paws and derpy face. And then it evolved into slurpuff.

SuperDude457 why are you hating on charizard. Charizard is the only fire type that actually has a useful dual type. ground beats fire. flying is immune to ground (except with mold breaker) charizard is fire and flying, eat that ground pokemon
Druddigon - Decent physical wall with rough skin, or strong trick room sweeper with sheer force (No stab boosted moves). It needs a mega along with flygon.
Erotic Clay Trex it's kind of like dusknoir and scizor, as in it's an evolution of a Pokémon that doesn't need an evolution, like rhydon is literally just golem, but with attack and defense swapped. unlike scizor and dusknoir, rypherior does not have a design better than rhydon, and really doesn't do rhydon justice. and now rhydon can't get anything special like a mega evolution because of rypherior, which is sad because rhydon was the first Pokémon ever created.
PersianPkmn not really, because you can give a rhyperior an assault vest. the way to describe the two in terms of competitiveness is like Gallade and Gardevoir in Generation 5. one is always like "aw, this thing is so good", and another is like "this thing sucks, and if you want to use it, you should probably replace it with something better.
Fun fact if you didn't know already but the bird masks of the Plauge Doctors was because they would fill the "beak" with herbs and spices to drown out the smell of death. It was kinda like a proto gas mask. ;)
Delphox would look so much better without all that ear hair. For years, I have tried my best to bring myself to like Delphox but the ear hair just kept me from doing so >_
I may be able to explain the concept behind Alomomola's name, but it's just an idea; I don't know for sure. Alomomola looks like it's based off of the ocean sunfish, which is a fish famous for basically being a body and two fins without a tail. In addition, the genus and species the ocean sunfish belong to is called "Mola mola," which would explain why "Mola" appears in its name twice; once forward, once backward. Also, my personal list: 5. well it is rock ground which makes it weak to ice water grass fighting steel ground (all but steel are super common) I forgot but I am pretty sure it doesn't have sturdy which means sp def super effective attacks kill it and it is slow

Honestly, I think that aromatisse (sorry if I spelled it wrong) kinda flopped because there were TOO MANY ideas. It was based on plague doctors, perfume, flamingos, and a fairy. Awww, I love Farfetch'd! Its design is cute and it taught me about trading Pokemon in Gen1. I Taught it cut and fly and it because a core part of my first Pokemon team. It's not competitive by any means but not all Pokemon have to be. Using this underwhelming duck makes me happy, and that's what a game is suppose to do :)
Pretty good list, but I just wanted to point out a couple of things: -Alomomola is a mola mola. I'm guessing they made it a palindrome because it's a weird name to start with. Flip the first "mola" and replace the space with an 'o'. -Whenever unown does something in the movie, there are a TON of them combining their power.
Particularly regarding Aromatisse, I really wish they would go back to inventing new evolutions and split evolutions for past Pokemon. Maybe even a regional varient of it that's poison type or something?

In the fanmade Pokémon Uranium game, there's actually a legit plague doctor evolution for Spritzee. It's called Miasmedic.

Dragon types like druddigon and altaria get buried by the other dragons because game freak made 90% of dragon types pseudo or Legendary pokemon, making normal dragons underwhelming. Its sad because druddigon is one of my favorite Pokemon.

Goodra is actually pretty good. Yes, it's slow but it can tank a special attack with no investment at all. That's just crazy. And with it's ability gooey, it usually outspeeds other Pokemon after the first hit. Max out HP and Def and throw some Leftovers on it and you got one annoying pokemon to deal with.

I actually like all the Kalos starters. Delphox I find to be a really cool design. I do agree that they could've done more with it, but I think it looks fine. And I was also kind of thinking Rhyperior, Klinklang and Sunflora were going to be on this list, given the thumbnail. About them, Rhyperior's design doesn't really look good to me. But Sunflora I like and Klinklang to me is freaking adorable.
I did a nuzlocke and used a personally EV trained Fennekin. As a Delphox it destroyed EVERYTHING.

If they could survive 1,000 years, a beautiful jewel would fall from the sky. If the serpent caught this jewel, it got to be a true dragon for the rest of its life. That explains its evolution line. Dratini is the serpent wishing to be a dragon, who, after a long time, evolves into Dragonair, which has the legendary jewel on its chest and tail. Then, just like the legend, it evolves into a noble dragon, the original dragon, Dragonite.

Because it's like, have a chicken. Oh yeah, have a bigger chicken. Then, the only people crazy enough to put up with all the chicken-ness must actually like chickens, and... they get this crazy weird bird-man thing. So... everyone's disappointed. Also, I happen to have a special hatred of Torchic on top of this, for the same reason most people hate Zubat. In the first Pokémon game I played, the weakest Pokémon ever was Torchic. The one you had to grind through hundreds of and wouldn't stop seeing no matter how powerful your team got, no matter if you're taking down Legendaries, "Sure let's just toss in another lvl 2 Torchic, they won't notice..." That is my ire with Torchic and its evolutions, and while Blaziken is great, and I am certainly biased, even looking back later, I still don't really like them. And frankly, I find the designs boring and silly. The fire chicken thing was "meh" for me. It just didn't seem cool. None of the gen 3 starters seemed that cool to me, honestly. But, whatever.
But I suspect that Mudkipian Emporer's dislike comes from something else. (I think I know which starter THEY chose :P)

Erotic Clay Trex it's kind of like dusknoir and scizor, as in it's an evolution of a Pokémon that doesn't need an evolution, like rhydon is literally just golem, but with attack and defense swapped. unlike scizor and dusknoir, rypherior does not have a design better than rhydon, and really doesn't do rhydon justice. and now rhydon can't get anything special like a mega evolution because of rypherior, which is sad because rhydon was the first Pokémon ever created.

I may be able to explain the concept behind Alomomola's name, but it's just an idea; I don't know for sure. Alomomola looks like it's based off of the ocean sunfish, which is a fish famous for basically being a body and two fins without a tail. In addition, the genus and species the ocean sunfish belong to is called "Mola mola," which would explain why "Mola" appears in its name twice; once forward, once backward.

Honestly, I think that aromatisse (sorry if I spelled it wrong) kinda flopped because there were TOO MANY ideas. It was based on plague doctors, perfume, flamingos, and a fairy. Truer words have never been said. The more attached you are to something, the harder it is to move on when it doesn't live up to your expectations. Attachment leads to high expectations, which then lead to disappointment. On the plus side, disappointment isn't all bad, as disappointment can make you stronger.

Awww, I love Farfetch'd! Its design is cute and it taught me about trading Pokemon in Gen1. I Taught it cut and fly and it because a core part of my first Pokemon team. It's not competitive by any means but not all Pokemon have to be. Using this underwhelming duck makes me happy, and that's what a game is suppose to do :)

-Alomomola is a mola mola. I'm guessing they made it a palindrome because it's a weird name to start with. Flip the first "mola" and replace the space with an 'o'.
-Whenever unown does something in the movie, there are a TON of them combining their power.
