I like Yuya. His character was heavily inspired by Jaden/Judai and probably GX first seasons in general. To this day, just hearing Jaden's cute catchphrase or pretty much any GX jap ost warms my heart.

Truth be told, Yugioh has helped me a lot as I've been sorta depressed lately, going through serious problems and found it difficult to smile as of late...that's why the philosophy of Arc V was so helpful to me, along with all the other Yugioh series I've watched. Looking foward to seeing Vrains soon too :-)
Yuya never dueled to become the best duelist, he just wanted to entertain and have fun. Through that he become even more powerful and in the series not only was able to have fun and was able to entertain others, but also showed the potential of being possibly one of the most skilled duelist of all time.
Despite how anime and manga ended, i would say arc v anime was one of the most discussed and hyped anime during the time anime aired and had significant impact on card game.
after all my years of playing, it no longer was about winning, it was about enjoying myself, and now my gaming style isn't meta, just a way for it to end with smiles and laughs no matter what the result. And my god did I find the right decklist for it, with iconic classic cards as the win condition.
Listening to this right after Vrains had aired kinda makes me wanna cry, I'm mean sure Arc-V didn't exactly have the ending we hoped for but looking back we all had great memories following Yuya and maybe we'll make even more great memories with Yusaku, goodbye Arc-V you taught me all about smiling, being happy and you were the first anime I watched in Japanese but a new arc is upon us one without Yuya, one with Yusaku, that has mystery, hacks and teaches us to "Take a step forward and try!" I hope for the best for Vrains, I'm gonna miss you Arc-V!
The anime ended disatisfactory, and the manga ended... well, you know what happened there. But let us not deny, Yuya definitely brought us some egao. In the end, he _was_ the best Entertainment Duelist.
This yu gi oh Arc - V exceeded my expectations of a well-constructed anime, it's a shame it had a bad ending, but I'm a fan of Sakaki Yuya and I even have a necklace that he wears in the anime ❤🥺
At first i didnt want to play with the Performapal arche-type due to thinking it was just goofy circus theme but Yuya made performapals badass to use. Performapal/Odd-eyes deck is actually one of my best decks now haha
As good as Vrains is, I think Arc V still beats it in terms of ambition and production values. The characters themes are more upbeat, but I really like Vrains' more serious approach as well. I just hope Yusaku opens up a bit more outside of Link Vrains.
Feels great reading these comments. I myself am just a teen that had watched ARC V as a kid and was immediately hooked into Yu-Gi-Oh! The very first decks I played where Performapals, Odd-Eyes, Phantom Knights, Raidraptor and Speedroids. And I am glad that most of the decks from the ARC V era have already gotten support that made them at least playable. (Superheavy Samurai, Melodius, and the ones I have already mentioned).
I overall enjoyed Arc-V, even if there were a lot of things that upset me about it - but hey, the fact that I was passionate enough to be angry is a good thing! Yuya is an amazing protagonist and I think he'll always hold a special place in my heart. His character arc is just incredible.
Phantom_ Knight 107 Yusei never lost a single duel except in a flashback.Judai has the most OP monsters in the series and finishes duels so quickly.Yuya is pretty good with performapal synergy with an INSANE power boost.Yugi/Yami are ok since they do have pot of greed,monster control,and White eyes but Most of the time they draw bad cards that can relate nothing to the duel and his deck is kinda rushed.Yuma however I don’t think should be the protagonist, I like him but his deck is a mess since Utopia spam is mostly unachievable since most of his cards cannot be fusion summoned not good enough to attack defensively or offensively.Thats why you ranked them perfectly.Yusaki is unrankable since I haven’t seen him in that much action lately.
Ehh, I'd personally disagree. The final season was rushed, absolutely, but I'd say given how he's acted throughout the show, it was pretty in-character for him. Throughout the first two seasons, he was playing more as an entertainer which is what he aspires to be in the first place. The last one though had no real opportunities to act such, instead being thrown into a full on battlefield and forced to deal with just how depressing the XYZ dimension was, while the Fusion dimension was all about the interdimensional war, save for the battle beast, with that constantly having to be reinforced onto the poor guy, on top of Zarc's influence upon him growing more and more. It rightfully just left him a rather depressed and/or angry individual.
Is it wrong for me to think Yuya is the most amazing and skilled protagonist yet? Sure Yugi will always be the King of Games... but think about it. Yugi never created a brand new type of summoning nor did he spend his entire life in the shadow of the Father that disappeared years ago after creating a new and highly beloved form of dueling. And that's just stuff he dealt with on the first episode!
He's definitely the most flip floppy protagonist yet. The number of eps i've watched where he has doubted his entertainment dueling (flashback inducing!) is hilarious. I need to show the world my entertainment dueling! ... five seconds later *Yuya is pissed and defeats them some other way, and then regrets it later*
