The process of growing up is different for each person, in their case separation was a must, they can't keep on doing what they were doing back then. The target market was for teenagers and young adults, if they kept doing so, they would surely get replaced by younger talents. By separating they can explore their own potentials, learning a lot more things and most importantly building new network in the industry, its not about how popular your bias is but how they're going to strive for long period of time, that's how hard is to survive the entertainment business
