I think this was in BC Canada and black bears are very common here. Unless you mess with their cubs they most likely won’t do anything to you. If you see one you back away but if they start to follow you then you should try to make yourself appear big, make noise and stand your ground. Either way back away slowly and don’t turn your back on them and everything should be peachy 👌
