I remember sitting at BW3's all night long waiting for this fight. My friends who didn't know much about silver I was telling them he's a sniper! I waited all night for one kick and one punch LOL. Love Anderson.
Lol my god!! Say what you want about the goat debate whether it's Jon Jones or St Pierre or Fedor. And say what you want about the competition each faced....No one! I mean no one ever beat the sh#@ outta people the eay thus man did. I swear its play he's a grown man fighting a kid. Like me fighting my little brother in our bedroom. Easy easy wins against the best in the world at the time. Absolutely vicious
He was the 5th middleweight champion in ufc history, the ufc was relatively new when silva was doing his thing chael sonnen was a good one too. This also isnt a title fight, this is light heavyweight, he was the middleweight champion
This fight is a light heavyweight fight that he took on short notice. Irvin won his previous with a KO in 8 seconds. Iwin tested positive for this fight. It was Silva first of his 3 LH fight in the UFC (Irwin, Bonnar, Cormier). Silva crushed a lot of talented people. Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Forest Griffin, Demian Maia, Vitor Belfort. However, the middleweight division made its return in 2005, Silva became the champion in 2006 so he also had to fight some people that didn't deserved a title shot. That's the biggest reason why he lost against Wedman. From the Patrick Cote's fight, Anderson started to feel that his opponent wasn't worthy to face him. He became very egocentric. Instead of destroying Cote, he toyed with him. After that, he didn't wanted to face Leites. He destroyed Griffin. Maia was scared of him. He started to think that he was invincible. Sonnen came and almost beat him. He was better in the next few fights but you can easily see it in the Weidman fight, he had no respect for him. He got caught and he lost his confidence. We've seen multiple fighter having trouble to return to their previous form once they lost their confidence. He was right. When Silva was giving his 100%, he was unbeatable. You gotta stay humble and realize that you cannot win only with your talent. He could have still been a champion for so many years but the rest is history.
Lol. That's tough man that's real tough I mean he came in and destroyed bridge Franklin who was the UFC's champion at the time!! Beat him up like he was a little girl who's he is supposed to fight? Even went up a weight class ...this was the common result. The gap between Anderson Silva and his competition was the largest gap ever you look at Jon Jones and there were fights where he won and you say well maybe he lost or that was a great fight. Silva may you want to ask the rough to stop the fight! Every fight look like he was going to kill the guy before the rest stops it
"Nice leg kick by Irvin....nvm"
his precision is uh... uhm, really precise - mike goldberg
Silva made it look easy my god .
One of my favorite fights. The lead up was making Irwin out to be an invincible, tough guy, hard life guy.
I remember being in high school when this fight happened, watching it live lol
This is how it supposed to be , Anderson went up a weight class and didn’t jump to the front of the line .
It’s crazy to see how small the venues that they were fighting in were haha even the fight nights are in arenas now

"Nice leg kick by Irvin" 🤣🤣🤣...game over 🤣

James Irvin has the same tattoo as Justin Goethje on his body. Those eyes, I think.

Tbh, people might be right, silva's title reign resume is a bit questionable, the only notable fighters he faced are vitor and handerson
