Not better, different. If you use a tippet ring, I suggest the 16/20 knot, a variant of this knot, which forms a double figure-of-eight. But, everyone has their favorite knot. It's what you can tie easily and reliably that counts.

Been Fly fishing for 25 years and this is definitely new to me. Will be trying this next time I go out. I'm always open to a better knot.
