this is exactly what I thought. The normal skin should have the pink animation while the prestigious one should get the golden animation. And the prestige skin needs more sparkles
Lux is already light-based so all of her classic skins particles have to be golden/yellow. This is why they have to change the colors of the Prestige (which I really like because pink is so much better lol).
The prestige is nice esp cause the hair difference :D Plus The sparkles and the fact its like Lux graduated and got gold skin of that skin in her class LOL
Prestige has more sparkles and longer hair and a golden aura, but I have to say, the darker details of Battle Academy Lux, like the dark wrapping under her gloves and the metal hair ties and metallic back emblem on the collar, are truly phenomenal. I think you have to get the original skin to get the prestige one? Or maybe if you get the prestige one you will get original inclusive. All I know is that the prestige isn't a seperate skin because I know on my Championship Tresh the prestige version comes up as a chroma (but I don't have it).

Lux still has a small hitbox but the shield may cause players to imagine that her hitbox is similar to a tanky champ like Garen or Galio. Either way the prestige skin just counters back with having a super shiny staff to wave around calling for attention in a teamfight. While Lux has a shield the size of a tank her role is not to be held in place like a tank.

They should give Ezreal a Prestige (but he was Legendary so I understand WHY they did not) where his skin would remain 'white' instead of turning into Hachimon from Naruto but his hairs would turn yellow like for saiyans (his basic hairs should be black in this scenario)... and he could get even a tail :D
You get the skin border by purchasing the prestige skin. I don't know if the border comes with the skin if the skin is obtained by crafting / rerolling.

The Prestige skins always have their own border so you don't have to buy anything. If you buy the border of the original then it will only change the original.

Well, there is really no reason for riot to change the VFX of a prestige edition (Value wise), so think it as a free addition.
They are actually different a lot. Just like the Q cage of the Prestige is totally different from the original and Prestige's skills have sparkles.
