Got suggestions? Throw them in the comments!
I am having a hard time listening to Mika talk about Chris Hannah's song writing abilities. Chris Hannah has written some of the most thought provoking songs of our Punk generation. A quality artist. I just can't deal.
I agree about Chris Hannah! Check out the other two Propagandhi reactions we have done so far, if you haven't already. Mika's response is a lot more positive! ~Liam
He’s maybe the best lyricist of all time but this album is pretty inaccessible. Even their fan base dropped way off for this (and Failed States)
@@ligairi Total bullshit. Coach's corner gets the loudest sing along of the night, always. This album is a massive grower. Failed States, I agree is a disaster, though.
@@troycampbell1214 Failed States ist one of their finest. Objectively much better than Victory Lap and IMHO even better than Supporting Caste 🤷🏻♂️
That's my favorite Propagandhi album and Speculative Fiction is one of my all time favorite songs from any band.
If your first draft of a song is anywhere near a finished Propagandhi song, i would very much like to hear one of them 😂 Propagandhi are incredible, they write some of the most considered and thoughtful songs I've ever heard and I've learned more about the world listening to them than i ever did at school
Potemkin City Limits is inarguably the greatest punk rock album ever made. There will never be anything like it again.
Propagandhi has hundreds of songs, none of them have a chorus.Your criticisms of the band are understandable because they are difficult to sink into and sometimes complex music takes more than one listen to love. My favourite band, and Glenn Lambert is a great singer. Chris Hannah not so much.
"Glenn Lambert is a great singer. Chris Hannah not so much." Is this a deadpan joke? Probably going to go over most everyone's heads. (It should be Glen, btw).
Metalheads have the weirdest expectations to how songs should sound, especially regarding vocals.
Probably explains why I’ve never liked metal but Propagandhi has always been one of my favorite bands.
A metalhead or classical enthusiast craving a pop song structure is weird.
Propagandhi never writes choruses. Their songs are all super technical. But the focus is always the lyrics. Their first three albums are more catchy and maybe enjoyable for most people but they’re also much more comparable to the style she says she dislikes (emo, Sum41, Offspring). I think Victory Lap and Supporting Caste are the best two albums to check out for Mika if she’s interested in hearing more.
Thanks for the suggestions, I look forward to hearing more! I’ll just need to focus on analysing the lyrics, which I liked ~Mika
Dastardly- you’re so hurt, like the rest of us fans. Mika- fair criticism, I appreciate you
how bout some bloodywood? would like a comparison to pre and post raul.
The game "Americas Army" was made to make kids interested in being in the military.
And if you don't like that slow part, you must hate the "lul" in Rime of the Ancient mariner. :P
Sum 41? Comparison ? You just so out of it
Rage against the machine/ system of a down/ sum 41/ offspring don't even deserve to be allowed to smell Propagandhi's farts. Chris Hannah is so far ahead of every other political lyricist its not even a contest. Informative and specific political songs are not easy to write. Propagandhi is the band that bands like ratm and soad wish they could be.
also going to mention i really hate the so cal sound. their first album is still their best.
How To Clean Everything has some bangers on it. I wonder if Mika will like it since it's so different? ~Liam
I just stumbled across you guys! I gotta say I'm loving your band choices so far Propagandhi, Suicidal, and Pantera! Mika you crack me up with your comparisons to sum 41 and offspring lol. Propagandhi is in a league of their own. Lastly I would love to see Liam react to Faith no More
She’s definitely going to think that How to Clean Everything (their poppiest album) sounds Sum 41 and Offspring-ish if she think this (their least accessible album) does.
