Because my cat at one point got confused between her litter box and one flower bed I used chestnuts hulls to discourage her. Worked fine for the cat but also for slugs and snails. Since then I collect a large quantity of chestnut hulls in the autumn and use them as needed. Free, no chemicals, nice walks in the woods, perfect !
But this was not so great for the garden hedgehog which finding nothing to eat has moved.

Chestnuts that you roast on your fire or horse chestnuts/conkers? Or do both work?

I use the external envelope of edible chestnuts since they are the spikiest and I aim for maximum efficiency.

Encourage wild birds into your garden. I often watch the sparrows and tits work their way up and down my shrubs picking off greenfly and bugs.

I have sparrows and blackbirds with nesting boxes for them but I swear they aren't interested in eating my slugs. I even put them on the bird table for them and they leave them there, maybe they're the wrong kind of slugs 😢

I had success eradicating fungus gnat using juvenile hormone analogue. Good thing with it is that it's harmless to adult insects.

Thanks for advice. Can you do a short video how to use Plant Invigorator. I’ve bought it last year and don’t really know how to use it.. thanks

Very helpful as usual. What can we do with slugs once we find them? Squish them? If we put them in the compost will they just survive and end up back in the garden? Do the birds eat them if we put them somewhere obvious? Thank you.

My grandmother used to tip table salt onto them to dry them out! Putting them in compost does no good at all. It's impossible to be rid of them completely, especially if you are like me and have a neighbour with an unkempt garden, so I use a combination of slug pellets, copper tape around pots, and if I find any I throw them into the middle of the garden and usually my resident blackbird will pop down and eat them for me.

ANTS! How do I stop ants making nests in my plant pots , excavating the soil and killing the plant.

    What about btk for caterpillars

And if btk doesn't work (I think some moths are immune) spinosad - which is also bacterial.

Where do you get the cork dressing from? I have been looking on line and I’m not sure which to purchase.

In France wine retailers generally have a bucket which is used by customers to deposit used corks. Since Rosie mentioned in a previous video that it was useful in many ways, I have asked for permission to help myself and I blitz them in the kitchen robot to put on top of my pots.
