I was originally told it would take 3 weeks but I didnt get my passport back until 6 weeks later - 8th of December. Whereas those that had appointments around August and September got theirs back between 2 to 3 weeks later. The issue date on the passport was 1st of December. So it took them a full week to even post it out, can you imagine. My passport got delivered via Special Delivery Royal Mail. 8th of December 2022. I applied for the 10 year 64 pages validity one which thankfully was what I received. I know someone that went there a few days ago and she was told that it would take 2 months - February - for the processing. Good luck guys. Now I dont ever need to go back to that place for another Decade - 10 full years God willing! Phew!

QUICK UPDATE: As I said I went for my appointment on the 11th of November and although the collection date they gave me was the 10th of Jan, I had my tickets for Nigeria booked for the 18th of December so I was really praying my passport would come before the collection date, it did not 😩. On the 16th of December, I went to the high commission very early with the intention of not leaving until I get my passport. I don't have a British or any other passport so my only hope of getting to and from Nigeria was my Nigerian passport. I was fortunate enough to get my passport on the day and this was honestly by God's doing. When I got it it said issued on the 4th of December, so from the 4th to the 16th they still hadn't posted it, and I wouldn't have gotten it in time for my trip if I hadn't gone in. Here are some of the things to note if you want to do the same. 1. Be very nice and polite - I was asking for my passport before the collection date they gave me, so I had to come begging. Even if you are coming for collection after your collection date there is no point going in hot cos they will also show you madness. 2. Have your collection slip printed out. You will not get a response if you don't. 3. Don't come in early, they only started attending to passport collecting after 12:30pm and I was there from 8am, IN THE FREEZING COLD! 4. Be ready to stay there for a while, I did not leave there until 4pm. Luckily we were allowed to wait inside for most of it. 5. Again be polite, trust me these people are frustrated enough as it is, most of the people that came shouting did not get their passports. Hopefully this helps ☺ I had a great time in Nigeria!

@@malikadeniji6012 It was meant to be posted to me. You don't need an appointment for collection. Once you go just let them know by the door you are here for collection and you show your receipt.
I tried this… my appointment was on the 14th Nov 2022, literally a day after yours. Collection day says Jan 11th. I went there on the 11th Jan to collect it and I was told it’s only just been sent for production lol. Albeit, I did the 10 year(64 page) one, perhaps reason for the delay, I really don’t know. I don’t know how you did it but you were indeed very lucky to collect it the same day. I even tried n give bossman something so that I won’t have to wait hours to collect it, only to be told it’s not ready haha (PS; didn’t get my £ back 😅) Told it’ll be ready n posted to me in about 3 weeks, I won’t hold my breath… Anyways guys, good luck to yous that are planning on getting your shit done 😊
@@larryola5491 😂😂😂😂 don't kill me. yes, I was definitely lucky with mine but I know they were having problems with the 10 years and 64 pages passport. Those who applied for that had to wait longer so that's the reason you weren't as lucky.

All this stress just to carry the green passport, doing it in Nigeria is easier compare to what you said here. I don't get stressed in Nigeria but here in England nor be small thing oo. I don't know who did this to Nigeria

Am not familiar with monzo and metro bank card, maybe try other banks card if you have any or ask family n friends to help out. I received my passport by post on the date stated for receiving it. I wouldn't stress too much, those 2 forms should be enough. You will need your appointment slip to get into the door and as long as you have that and the other documents you should be ok God willing.

I would say wait since it's just a month's time cos you don't want it sent to the wrong address you still have a bit of time. When do you have to renew your biometric?

It took mine 3 weeks. My appointment was 31st October. I had to be in nigeria for a funeral the week starting 14th November. I went back to the Nigerian high commission on Friday 11th November to get an emergency travel certificate- which you get on the day. I was in Nigeria for 2 weeks. When I got back on the 29th November the passport had been delivered. I tracked the delivery date- it was delivered on the 28th of November. The issue date of the passport is the 9th of November. So the problem is really when they put it out to post

@@asikanonyalim1185 As soon as possible, you can pay for your passport now, and book your appointment date later. When you pay, you have up to a year to book your appointment date for Biometrics.
Yes the number will be enough cos you will need it on appointment day. I would say start the process 4-6 months just incase. Depends on when you need your passport.

I did capturing and biometric for my passport on 23rd of February 2023 and today made it 4 weeks but I haven't received my passport. I went online to track the process and I realised something like"❌ pending for NIN verification" Please do it mean my NIN is not yet verified or what? Someone should explain to me and confused.
Hi Nathalie. It could mean that some details in your NIN doesn’t match the details on your passport. For me, it was that I used my middle name as my first name for my passport but on my NIN application it was the other way around. You might want to check this

Sister, I understand that at the Embassy people are told to write their address and NIN number on either the acknowledgement slip OR the payment slip. I'm not sure which one. Do you have any recollection of this?

Sadly this is taking up to 8 weeks now. My appointment day was way back on 25th of October and it has been six weeks noy but no sign of the passport yet. The same is true of at least two people that I know went for their appointment im the same week as me.

And if you have to, schedule your visit to AFTER Christmas. Between the Christmas break and the new year. Alternatively, schedule your appointment for early in the new year. The reason is that the busiest time for that place is November through to Christmas Eve. I applied for mine 25th of October and even at that I spent over 4 hours in that place. @@mazdmedic4950 So I think based on the current timescales, it is highly unlikely that you would get the passport before your travel date since they even take their time to post it out. THey took an extra 7 days after the passport was issued before they even posted it. So here is what I would suggest, I suggest you head there and explain your urgent travel situation and see if you can save the one week of them posting it out, suggesting that you would prefer to collect it assuming it would be ready before you travel. Does anyone know accurate info about getting a new passport on the basis of stolen or misplaced passport? Requirements a bit strange; letter from police and not sure if its Nig police or UK, and some other funny Requirements...anyone help please?
You can go to a local police station in your area if in the UK and report your passport missing.They will document it and give you a paper stating you lost your passport,stamped and signed.You then take it to the embassy.I did that for mine 6yrs ago when i lost my naija passport.Good luck.
I ended up going to the OIS office on Fleet Street to make the payment physically. They charge a £20 fee to make the payment there which I felt was unfair considering it was through no fault of my own that I couldn’t do it online, but such is life. The £20 has to be in cash.

I saved and printed everything off as I was doing it. They will hardly send you a confirmation email except for payment.

It took mine 3 weeks. My appointment was 31st October.
I had to be in nigeria for a funeral the week starting 14th November. I went back to the Nigerian high commission on Friday 11th November to get an emergency travel certificate- which you get on the day. I was in Nigeria for 2 weeks. When I got back on the 29th November the passport had been delivered. I tracked the delivery date- it was delivered on the 28th of November.
The issue date of the passport is the 9th of November. So the problem is really when they put it out to post

They did not ask for my slip or proof of NIN. I believe the number will suffice as long as it is valid and your names on the passport and NIN tally.

Yes the number will be enough cos you will need it on appointment day. I would say start the process 4-6 months just incase. Depends on when you need your passport.

Hi Nathalie. It could mean that some details in your NIN doesn’t match the details on your passport. For me, it was that I used my middle name as my first name for my passport but on my NIN application it was the other way around. You might want to check this

Sadly this is taking up to 8 weeks now. My appointment day was way back on 25th of October and it has been six weeks noy but no sign of the passport yet. The same is true of at least two people that I know went for their appointment im the same week as me.
Mine still hasn't come yet and my flight is in 9 days.
@@mazdmedic4950 Quick Update: Good and Bad News though. Finally got mine through the post this morning. So one cardinal rule: AVOID heading to that place in December! And if you have to, schedule your visit to AFTER Christmas. Between the Christmas break and the new year. Alternatively, schedule your appointment for early in the new year. The reason is that the busiest time for that place is November through to Christmas Eve. I applied for mine 25th of October and even at that I spent over 4 hours in that place. I was originally told it would take 3 weeks but I didnt get my passport back until 6 weeks later - 8th of December. Whereas those that had appointments around August and September got theirs back between 2 to 3 weeks later. And here is another trick, the least busy times is also AFTER the summer holidays. Like Late August / early September through to end of October. My passport got delivered via Special Deliver Royal Mail. 8th of December 2022. I applied for the 10 year 64 pages validity one which thankfully was what I received. I know someone that went there a few days ago and she was told that it would take 2 months - February - for the processing.
@@mazdmedic4950 So I think based on the current timescales, it is highly unlikely that you would get the passport before your travel date since they even take their time to post it out. THey took an extra 7 days after the passport was issued before they even posted it. So here is what I would suggest, I suggest you head there and explain your urgent travel situation and see if you can save the one week of them posting it out, suggesting that you would prefer to collect it assuming it would be ready before you travel. Did you ever try to track your application . Did mine on the 28th of October and I haven’t received mine yet . I do need the passport for end of January . What’s worse is my current passport has another 4 years on it , I just wanted to do a change of name . I wonder if one can ask them to refund and I’d wait for my passport to expire . I’ve got my NIN few days after my appointment, filled the online passport application renewal and payed ( I’ve check my bank account and the payment went too).
I’ve tried several times to call the Nigeria high Commision but none was available. Now, I’m having problems to book for my e-passport appointment as it said “application ID not found”.

You can go to a local police station in your area if in the UK and report your passport missing.They will document it and give you a paper stating you lost your passport,stamped and signed.You then take it to the embassy.I did that for mine 6yrs ago when i lost my naija passport.Good luck.

I ended up going to the OIS office on Fleet Street to make the payment physically. They charge a £20 fee to make the payment there which I felt was unfair considering it was through no fault of my own that I couldn’t do it online, but such is life. The £20 has to be in cash.

Check your details are correct. It should be in the email as well, the one that has your receipt for payment
