I mean... to be fair, anyone following pop culture cared about this. It was really a moment for pop culture fan. Lauren is a pretty major Taylor swift channel. She really put a lot of effort in her video. I do think some of th easter eggs were a strech. But ppl definitely watch that music on repeat bc of them
She left so many Easter eggs that I bet there are still a lot we haven’t found years after
she did said there are a lot of things still undercover in the LWYMMD MV
During that era in which the fandom calls "Cruel Summer", #taylorswiftpartyisover was #1 trending globally. In Australia, some artist painted this message on a huge mural. Snake emojis were attached to every Taylor Swift mention. In stores, all you see were magazines with Taylor snakes on the cover. Hell, the Kardashians made their millions from this era. The talk shows were savage. The only show who did not attack her was Good Morning America, which is why she continually announce anything about her projects on the show. So yeah, it felt like the whole world condemned her. And now, the world is clamoring for her Eras tour to come to their city/country. I'm glad she's making them wait, lol. Payback is a bitch bitches. Btw gents, yes, our Taylor is absolutely petty, lol. And we love that about her.
I love that she went from that dark times to owning the snake label and came back stronger than ever, it’s like “you want me to be the villain? Well I am then” but like in a good way yk
True, though by definition “petty”carries the connotation of being trivial and I think Taylor standing up for herself and punching back is kind of important. Maybe we need to use a different word that dude bros would appreciate? Like, “Taylor’s pugnacious?” But even that indicates she might like to start fights when the truth is more that she punches back. Or maybe we just use her own words from vigilante sh*t -“I don’t start sh*t, but I can tell you how it ends.”

This reaction was hilarious. Honestly I can't handle her channel but she is brilliant for figuring this all out for us.
Taylor leaves these easter eggs on purpose. It's like a game to her.
Yes, great literary reference. And I do wonder what was playing out bts with her hopes to buy her masters when this video came out. Could also be a reference to the possible missing album, “Karma” …hence Taylor sawing the wing off a plane and spray painting Reputation on the side of the plane, just as this caged bird perhaps had its wings clipped?
What she didn’t mention is that in the beginning of the video there was the tilted cross that she pulled a lever and it became straight that was a nod to Kanye west one of his tours his stage was tilted suspended in air

I did think more than once on this video: 'ok wow that was uncalled for' or 'that was plain mean'. Having someone make fun of the way you talk can be a pretty hurtful experience when you're putting yourself out there for others to see.
Yes, she was exagerating because she was excited, but it was a really big deal in the pop culture word. I live in Spain and was not a swiftie at the time and even then I heard about what happened (american news don't usually reach european countries unless you're searching for them).

The cage scene is towards the Kardashians… I think Kendal (or one of them) had an instagram picture wearing an outfit similar to the one Taylor is wearing… and then the cage symbolises the castle (music industry) that she once held the keys to (call it what you want lyric)… I remember people explaining this better, but Taylor basically said this was my home and now it’s my prison because of you or sth to that effect
I think most fans agree now that the golden cage + 2nd verse is about the masters and big machine behind the scenes trouble

This is MY theory about the car crash: she resembles Katy Perry (close enough). She is holding a Grammy (we know Katy has never won a Grammy so far, which I don't get. She has had some excellent songs but whatever). I took it as a way of Taylor saying, "We had this *amazing/cool* friendship (the car which is an amazing cool car), and then *you wrecked* it (the crash itself), so then I *wrote* a song about it (allegedly), and THAT song about our *wrecked friendship* won a grammy. (the reason why she is holding the Grammy in an attire that *resembles* Katy Perry)"
*Bad Blood* indeed won the grammy for *Best Song*.
I use the word allegedly regarding *Bad Blood* because, as usual, Taylor *never* said that the song was about *Katy* specifically. it was all the *media* guessing and also *Katy* referring to it in some tweet or something

One thing we can agree with is that Taylor is a talented artist that gets better and better, has grown a lot, and keeps working on her craft.
