The 1st car I tried to talk my parents into letting me buy in 1976. Mom said ask Dad , Dad said let’s go see it. It just barely rained for a few minutes we got in it, Dad behind the wheel hit street, he bumped the gas, spun the tires and spin out. He said great choice, never happen. And it didn’t, but if I win the lottery…….
I think I've mentioned on here before, but my dad had an almost identical Mach 1 that he bought new in 69' . Only differences were that it was a non cobra jet, had the regular hood and it was an automatic. I love how this still has the original stereo! Like you mentioned with this one, he also modified and had a 4 barrel put in to go with the 351 engine. My parents were divorced and I used to visit him during school summer breaks and I'll never forget how I jerked back in the seat during accelerations. Thanks for reviewing this all time classic!
I have one, all red PNO though. In my garage, my father gave it to me after he pass away. I just sit in it as it is my sofa. Always ;) just relaxing as my weekend is always relaxing.
Hi Mike and Brian, first of all, I appreciate your passion for cars and your enthusiasm sharing your views/reviews with the community. You are doing a great job especially being for not having lived that era. I feel bad about some of the "Monday Morning Quarterbacks" and "Armchair Generals" that feel the need to criticize your description of this car. To top it off, some of those YT commenters also make mistakes in their very own "corrections" to your description. We need more young people like you, polite and respectful - willing to accept criticism even if "misplaced". My only recommendation would be to show more of the engine compartment since the "Muscle Car Era" had a lot to do with the engine power race that each car manufacturer was pursuing. Great video and thank you for sharing it for the benefit of younger generations, Ciao, L (former FoMoCo engineer).
Wow. This Mach 1 takes me back! That engine is beautiful. I think that button on the right of the steering column may have been the flashers. Not sure. A really great looking car!
Yes it's the emergency flashers . Pull out to engage. The dashboard light can be dimmed by turning the light switch. 70 had the ignition on the steering column much easier 😅
69 Mustang Mach 1 is by far one of the top 6 BEST LOOKING MUSCLE cars of all time. The design of it exterior and interior is decades ahead of its time, never mind for 69. Right up there with 69 Charger R/T , 69 Camaro Z-28, 70 GTX, 70 Chevelle SS and of course CUDA
That was severely underated my friend for insurance reasons. This cat pushed out 375hp plus !! And it's about 3400 pounds compared to todays 3800 pound Mustangs ! I had a similar '69 Mach 1 with the same color and trim. Mine did not have the louvers on the rear window and instead of the ram air shaker hood scoop, mine had a fake scoop with turn signal indicators facing inside. The original engine had long gone and was replaced with a 351W from a '74 LTD and it unfortunately had lots of filler and the engine had low oil pressure...refused to die though 😁
i saw this car in John Wick and it became one of my favorite cars ever since. It looks really cool and its really fast as well. What more could you want from a car?
Happy for you. Must be over the moon. Really clean machine. A couple months till mine is done. Only thing is I’m gonna wait till it’s all the way on the road before I do the final Mach 1 clone conversion. Still looking forward to seeing what it’s like with the Holley sniper EFI setup and all the other mods my dad and I have added. Have fun living the dream.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I kind of chuckled when you said it didn't have a lot of power. The were slightly underrated for insurance purposes, plus they were detuned for streetability. The potential is VERY high in those FE engines. Put an aggressive roller cam in that old FE motor, do a little work to the heads or put on some Trick Flow heads, and you could be seeing around 600 hp. Don't forget that the LeMans winning GT40 in 1966 was a 200+ MPH car with a 427 FE engine. It was making 450-ish HP.

Hey Brian, hope you guys had a great holiday The seatbelt above is a shoulder strap that attaches to the lapbelt it doesn’t retract so once you attach that you are definitely strapped in for instance you probably could not reach the key now that I think about it most cars that had lap belt or no seatbelt at all pretty much had the key in the dash wonder if that was one of the reasons the key migrated to the steering column? Also the button on the steering column is the hazards and if you didn’t notice the switch for the hi beams was on the floor. Call reviews always have a good one👍

That's a beautiful car, I love the colors on it. Does this car have the old school ash tray with the cigarette lighter. You should show people the lighter, because it's pretty crazy how it lights up red. I think that thing on the steering column is a 4 way flash, I might be wrong, but my Dad had a 57 Chevy and these are some things I remember. I can't see that car sitting around for too long. It seems perfect, except I was wondering why the hood on the drivers side wasn't lining up with the rest of the car? Maybe the hood wasn't pushed all the way down.
I'm not sure if it had the lighter. I didn't look that close, or just didn't notice it. The panel gap was not perfect for sure. I think maybe older cars like this just didn't have the same quality of new cars. Great car overall tho!
