I have been in the exact same situation. I got into a government medical college (I am an UR category student, and a Brahmin). From the first day of college, a boy of my class, my batchmate fell in love with me.... (he was neither a Brahmin nor from an UR category). He liked me before meeting me in person, he fell in love with me just by looking at my picture. In the beginning, I couldn't understand what he was feeling... He was from a government school and for me, being a CBSE student from an international school, relationship, crushes and all these stuffs are pretty common (I mean in my school people casually dated randomly and broke up quiet normally). In the beginning I couldn't understand how to reach to his overflowing emotions, romantic talks, texts and extremely caring nature....At first I thought that it was just a normal crush or infatuation type of thing that will fade off with time... but as time passed, his emotions intensified more and more...he had told me about his past love and he even had told one of his close family members about how he felt.... At this point of time I understood that things are getting out of my hand and for the first time I talked directly to him about US. He (as I felt) said that he was very serious about us and can even talk to our parents about us.... I then explained him decently and respectfully that I am sure that my parents will never accept us and I know in rhe very beginning that there is no future of us being together...As I already know that nothing will happen between us in the future, I can't waste my emotions and feelings into something like this....in the present all these may seem to be magical in love but in the future, all these can mess up our future.... He understood my situation...🙂

Nowadays boys are skeptical for getting married early or in time. If the boy's family has well settled business then toh he is married off by 21-23yr age coz kou tension hogi nahi kyunki he is already well off. Yahan financial insecurities nahi hai.
Where the boy is from middle class background and is already dealing with family responsibilities, financial problems, younger brother or sister's education, marriage is the primary than to think about himself. Yahan ladka emotionally phas jata hai. Even if he wants to get married ... family responsibilities usse kahin na kahin rokti hain.
Boys those are financially independent and have clear goals in life.. they explore and take their time to settle down after 30+ age.

Bhai I like your spiritual /horror podcasts better and certain podcasts on getting to understand a female psyche. But I slightly disagree here with the reasons mentioned:
1. We are culturally very strong civilization and others are religion wise very strong, we imposed culture on our people and others imposed religion. having said that, what ever happened in USA or western countries ,happens in India after a generation. Their grand to grand parent could afford a house when they were 20(they were financially independent). Our grand parents could. Their parents were in debt, (or being out of debt for a complete life span for their parents was an achievement). Our present generation is majorly in debt(check the stats on various news). . So their is financial insecurity which has become a social norm, so shadi's are either delayed or people are sceptic at first place. So our societal development as a whole played a big part.
2. Now if a girls will see her cousins, neighborhood, locality, known people getting married late, she would also insist her parents for the same as she can buy out time for her own desires, societal wise if someone is in a career for 4-8 years, the person starts earning more than average population , and this acts a validation to allow a girl to marry late, hence being sceptic at the first place initially was ok.
By here we know both parties have their own reasons........................
3.By 28 -32 the successful people realize that we can get married and the unsuccessful people realize that now I have to get married. But if people are successful before that either parties/both parties they marry at a young age.(Consider Indian celebs only, in general... exceptions will be their).
4.Finally, physiologically our hormones are are most active from 18-28/20-30/22-32/25-35 (considering this entire range from 18-35) So our elders used to say its time for marriage when the hormones are at its peak when we reach this age and now people focus prioritize other segments of life over marriage in this age and keep on hopping relations( getting physical/mental/emotional satisfaction and variety) and concentrating on other aspects of life. Getting Married is just a notion now, previously it was considered responsibility (not talking of husband wife responsibility here), but a civilizational responsibility then even society used to point out that your son/daughter should get married. Society still does but we have to deal with our devils first. We have taken the face or word values from our elders but forgotten the meaning of it. So this is another reasons why people are scared, our own devils have gone out of control. Hence giving a second thought to marriage.
