I was lucky enough to get some time off work to head down to Chicago for a week recently. I was told by so many people that it's a "must see", now I am one of those people, I love Chicago!
It turned out to be cheap as chips driving over the border to Fargo in North Dakota and catching a two hour flight to the windy city. To be totally honest, I wouldn't be surprised if I did it again in the near future.
A bit about the video, I spent four days shooting downtown Chicago and a little over two weeks to complete post production editing.

Fantastic song pick for a time lapse video in Chicago.
How could anyone dislike this video? The city and the video are both incredibly beautiful and the editing must have taken a while to do. I'm going there in September and spending my birthday there with my family.

The reasons i like chicago is because at night theres a lot of beautiful lights and i only like chicago in the down town because its pretty there.

Thanks for the comment! Yes you're right with both of the locations. As you've already realised, Sears Tower can be quite busy therefore a bit frustrating to secure a spot in the viewing deck. I hope you had good weather too. Can you share your final video here?
I am going down to Chicago in a week and im only there for a day. What do you think would be the best place to get a downtown night timelapse. How did you get the clips where you were so high up?

I would suggest going up to the viewing deck of the John Hancock building. It can be pretty busy, so I would recommend going later at night, or early in the morning.
Another good location is the Navy Pier looking back towards downtown.
My 'birdseye' shots were taken from both the John Hancock Building and the Willis Tower.

What's the name of the song and artist you used? Btw I your video is absolutely fantastic! I think your music pick and the way you timed the video to it works so well. I love dubstep time lapses! I would really like to get into time lapse photography. I already have been a photographer for 8 or 9 years, but have never tried time lapse.

I use a pretty simple/amatuer friendly program called Sony Vegas for the video editing, but I run the images through Lightroom first.
