Starship | SN10 | High-Altitude Flight Recap

  • Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
  • On March 3, Starship serial number 10 (SN10) completed SpaceX’s third high-altitude flight test of a Starship prototype as it successfully ascended, transitioned propellant, and reoriented itself for reentry and an active aerodynamic controlled descent. SN10’s Raptor engines reignited to perform the vehicle’s landing flip maneuver immediately before successfully touching down on the landing pad.
    Test flights such as SN10’s are about improving our understanding and development of a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo on long-duration interplanetary flights, and help humanity return to the Moon, and travel to Mars and beyond.

      But the main reason why we broke out in February was because we had news of Tesla buying $ 1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin, which served as a major catalyst in further creating new all-time highs. Up until that point, we were on a downward trend and eventually trading sideways, like we're seeing now. It wasn't a technical breakout that drove Bitcoin to new highs in February, it was more fundamental news of adoption by major institutions. We need to see more of that if we're going to repeat the growth that we saw last month. Until then, I have a feeling that we're going to be trading down and sideways, looking at the current situation I would suggest tredlnq with Daniel Wright to.make more gains from all this as I have made over 8btc in just 3 waeks of trading with hlm, here are his details on Tel- gram ( @Danielwrightfx) for his assistance on strictly crypto related concerns...

      3 boosters, Falcon Heavy style is never gonna happen for Starship, and that's a good thing. Starship was designed from the ground up to be easily scalable, which is much more efficient. There is nothing magic about a 9 meter diameter. After they have a solid working rocket, scaling it up and making a 12, 15, 20 meter monster would be relatively trivial. When you add side boosters like Falcon heavy you gain complexity, but you keep the same payload volume and same upper stage size, and your booster fuel capacity grows 3x, as your booster weight grows 3x. Instead, when resizing the rocket diameter, you also enlarge the upper stage and therefore payload volume, and you get to take advantage of the square-cube law, that is, as you apply a multiplier to your diameter, your *surface* grows by the *square*, but your volume grows by the *cube* of the multiplier.

      3 boosters unnecessary, since they plan to refuel in orbit, with a fully fueled starship half the solar system will be accessible

      @user-sn8oe5sb1b 3 года назад +4

      @@platinumpineapple9943 Not sure if you're being serious, but Starship doesn't launch on a Falcon, it'll have its own Super Heavy Booster. Starship is as tall as the Falcon 9, but almost 3 times the diameter, and it's dry mass is about 4 times that of the Falcon. It would be literally impossible. Super Heavy Booster is a REALLY BIG fucking rocket, similar to the Falcon, capable of launching Starship. The first prototype is still being built. And, it doesn't need to save any fuel for Mars, because after being launched into earth orbit, Starship is empty, it only has fuel in the header tanks, barely enough to deorbit and land, certainly not enough to go to mars. After it launched, other Starship or Starships will fly and refuel it, in orbit. It'll take as much as 5 flights to fully refuel a Starship. Then it goes to Mars.

      JPL is very successful, it's just their old contractors that are fumbling SLS, and Congress forcing it to happen to maintain jobs in their respective States. Even ULA said "ya know, we could skip the moon and just do orbital refueling", which was not approved by Congress.
